I checked my unit at 23:00 EDT and happened to notice that it was updated to firmware version 3.9.10. Just thought I would let people know that it started getting pushed out. Hopefully this will fix all the navigation issues we’ve been having.
I had my update a half hour in (about 10:30pm), apparently: The rover’s lights were blazing, and Charging had stopped. I waited a while, no change. I updated the App and went in, the rover had the new firmware. I manually initiated charging, and it took one or two tries, but then it started Charging. Somewhere along the way most of the lights went off, and eventually all.
I would suggest everyone go and check that you’re Charging. Hit the yellow battery percentage button if not.
UPDATE: Per Bryan W. if the rover is on the docking station, it will start charging automatically when the battery gets down to 90%. So for the impatient, hit the big yellow button. If you slept through the update like I almost did, you should be OK. Not sure about the lights, though – it was a bit bright. Maybe those eventually turn off on their own, not sure.
Thanks @Ken. I just checked and can confirm that after the update charging failed with a misalignment error. I hit the charge button and it started charging without issue; I didnt have to realign anything. Went from 100% to 90% overnight.
@Yarbo-Forum The charging issue is either a bug or if by design this should be noted in the release notes so users know to check charging status after the update. But, since no notification is sent after the update how will users know to check?
I just ran a quick test to check if workplan history is fixed and can confirm that it is fixed. All of your history shows up as well.
That’s the good news. The bad news is I found two issues:
-
Skipped an entire row. It seems like it saw a phantom object, decided to avoid it by cutting straight across the previously mowed path, skipped an entire row where the perceived object was, then continued mowing.
-
Obstacle Avoidance (Beta) - Was able to navigate to the target area just fine. On the way back, following the same pathway, it navigated around my truck and then decided the truck was in the way and just stopped. It should have made a left turn and traversed across the driveway in front of the truck. This has been the routine from the beginning. I had to manually drive it to the charging station. I guess I’ll be turning this feature off.
Sadly my core was bricked in the yard mid mow yesterday afternoon, but I got the message that my app updated. My Data Center is connected to my network and when I connect to it via Bluetooth it says it’s firmware is up to date. The core remains a brick and a throne in my side with the front yard half done.
