GPS antenna defective?

My yarbo kept reporting weak GPS signal recently (it didn’t before). Diagnose shows L2 fluctuates from 0 to 2 for most of the time, even though the core has access to open sky. Here are the what I did:

  1. Created a support ticket, but somehow yarbo support directed me to PPVS. Disabling PPVS didn’t help. L2 still very low.

  2. I swapped Yarbo’s right side antenna with DC’s antenna, didn’t help.

  3. I bought 2 3rd party RTK antenna on amazon and put them on Yarbo. All of the sudden, I am getting L2 between 10 to 15 now.

I don’t know why swapping Yarbo antenna with DC’s didn’t work. But swapping to 3rd party antenna seems to work. I will give it more test over the snow storm over the weekend. Hope this hack helps to solve the weak GPS signal problem.

It’s possible the third party antenna is maybe making better contact with the SMA connector. Seems unlikely that you’d have 2 bad antennas.
