Hi all. Today I received an “auger over current” error and heard some grinding. I inspected the auger for a blockage or shear pins issues but found none. I removed the module and could see aluminum fillings, metal debris and a slightly damaged belt. See pics. Ticket opened but has anyone else had…

Could be a failing motor shaft, does your auger and impeller spin under load or does it surge? I think that’s how mine started going and the shaft was stripping out the keyway in the drive gear

I think that is what’s happening. The metal fillings and what looks like a metal band leads me to think it’s a shaft, gear or bearing. The wear to the belt is a side effect of a loose pulley.

I wonder if it could be a pulley alignment issue?

There really isn’t an alignment that I am aware of, it’s just tensioned. Could be over tensioned maybe.

There is an alignment, I promise you there is. It may not be adjustable and if it isn’t it could be a bad set of motor brackets.

Support wants me to send pictures of the motor mount.

I’ve got same issues before. I assume that the metal debris are from the belt itself.
See my post as well. AUPDATE: Root cause found — timing belt is severely worn/shredded (photos attached)
