Habits while Yarbo core is traversing an area

So as you do, I watch what my Cores are doing through Smart Vision and keep an eye them as they work and move around my yard.

While they are traversing across an area the core will make a turn and do the ‘clearing dance’ where it will turn and back up a little to clear and cut path, unnecessarily.

Why is this function still enabled while ‘traversing and not cutting’. It just adds to wear and tear on the drive system that already has wear problems.

The other bad habit is the stop to turn. Even for a small course changes while traversing and mowing. How long until the programming team figure out differential steering. I know the unit is capable as it can do small course corrections while mowing.

Again it can be hard on the drive system components not to mention the amount of time it wastes especially while mowing.

Is there anything in the system that may address these quirks?

Completely agree. Been begging for these changes for a while. I hope we see them soon.

1000%

How about stupid movements like you can back the rover up to it’s dock hit recharge, and it will turn around straight at dock, then spin around again and back up.

Or driving to an area to mow it is going down my sidewalk as I mapped, but then goes a bit left and hit my concrete steps. So I manually back up and hair and hit resume, it will do a 180 and head back to the charger, do a 180 in front of it and then head back towards the mowing area, hoping on the pathway is does not hit the steps again.

You could as they say write a book about all the weird things this thing does and the odd movements it makes.

Definitely things that make you go hmmm…

I trust this has been raised elsewhere in the forum (I have not searched yet) - why does it beeline diagonally right across the lawn it just mowed in perfectly straight lines? I’ve tried Smart Route on and off to effectively no difference.

Is it too much to ask that it proceed to the closest perimeter (adhering to the pattern) and follow that to the Area’s exit/pathway?

I have a beautiful checkerboard with diagonal lines ruining the effect. Grrrrr :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Long standing complaint. One of those things they will maybe get to eventually.

Thanks for sharing the detailed feedback. I completely understand that there’s still room for improvement in the areas you mentioned, especially regarding movement logic, turning behavior, and overall drive efficiency.

I’ll help pass your feedback along to our team for further evaluation and improvement.
