Heated charging deck?

Has anyone else had trouble with ice buildup on the charging dock? Despite Yarbo’s efforts to keep it clean, I’ve had wet snow build up, then get packed down by the tracks into a solid layer of packed snow/ice.

It seems like it wouldn’t be hard to build a regulated heat cable into the deck to keep it just above freezing.

I very much support this idea.

With the Yarbo above heating the battery too, sounds like a perfect place for a “guest” nest.

But, I do agree it sounds like it would be a nice feature.

They experimented with this early on and found that heating the dock created an even bigger mess of ice and even potentially freezing and thawing issues affecting the hardware.

It’s not generally recommended, but a lot of people have been having success using those outdoor dog house tents to keep the dock covered. Just have to knock the snow off it periodically.

One of Yarbo vids on youtubes has them bragging about the heated charging station….I noticed mine doesnt warm up lol and seeing this feed looks like they blowing smoke up someones butt lololol….

Obviously it’s super early in the snow season, but so far the dog house cover I bought for Yarbo keeps both Yarbo and the dock snow free.

That makes sense - it would need some good drainage paths to get the melt water away before it refreezes.

The doghouse solution sounds like a good weekend project. Thanks!

This is the doghouse I bought. Get the one without the windows on it. WELL worth the money so far.

Mines got a small amount of crust at the bottom, but easy to break up/clean. I think Yarbo has been doing some of it on it’s own

Maybe needs a flame thrower module.

So many uses. Yellow Jackets in your yard? Torch em!.

Early frost gonna hit the fruit trees? Yarbo to the rescue with the immediate heat.
