I set it to clean the charging pad twice, but it seems to skip a few inches of snow right in front of the charging pad. This is usually not a big deal, but after rolling over the snow, it packs the snow and creates a small bump. This small bump seems to interfere with the auger height and sometimes prevents charging. What’s more, as the bump turns into ice, it causes Rover to slip when backing into the charging pad. I can see Rover continuously adjusting its position, but it keeps failing because of slippage on one side of the track.
The sequence for entering the charging pad is as follows:
- Get to a position 1 meter in front of the charging pad.
- Turn right by 45 degrees, blow the snow on the right side, raise the auger, then drive back to 1 meter in front of the pad. This is similar to every zero turn.
- Blow the right half of the snow on the charging pad.
- Blow the left half of the snow on the charging pad
- Turn off auger, drive back to 1 meter in front of the pad, then back onto the charging pad.
Somehow, between steps 2 and 3, it skips a few inches of snow. I think it would be helpful to adjust the distance to make sure it cleans all the snow in front of pad.
