We are rolling out a hotfix update for Firmware V3.13.1 and App V3.18.2. The update will be released in batches and is expected to be completed by April 23rd.
Fixed an issue where rotation in the checkerboard route pattern did not function as expected.
General
Improved copy and in-app pop-ups related to the emergency stop for better clarity.
Smart Vision is now available in 4G mode, with up to 20 minutes of usage per month.
How to update
Please make sure your Yarbo is powered on and connected to the internet. The new firmware will be installed automatically once it becomes available.
Note
If both the firmware and app are not updated to the latest versions, some features may be temporarily unavailable due to compatibility differences.
If you have not received the update by April 23rd, please contact us at support@yarbo.com for assistance.
Honestly @Yarbo-Forum If I had an update my yarbo now button and got an error back saying the system is busy try again in an hour, I’d be happy with that.
Ideally this is a great idea! Would resolve a lot of confusion and temporary loss of functionality.
But real world wise, I don’t think it will work. Lots of people have “automatic app updates” set up on their phones. Hard to synchronize the app’s release with the firmware update, especially since they stagger the firmware deploy.
Easy fix in my book (always easy for the guy that doesn’t have to do the work ) implement the auto update toggle in app under a new “Updates” section of the settings and then have a user defined scheduled check and install day/time. No need to roll the updates. But the app HAS to be backwards compatible. Then you can roll the two out simultaneously. And that public beta would be ideal too.
I think you hit the nail on the head… The app MUST be backwards compatible.
Also, they need to stop reverting settings back to default after an upgrade. Settings need to be persistent, or they need to call out any setting that cannot be maintained in the release notes.
Do not need the app to be backward compatible. Android Play Store lets you stop automatic update of the app. Just wait until you get the firmware update, then update the app. I don’t know iPhones, but they probably have the same ability.
