@cobradunn - that did the trick, thank you. It had been about an hour, so I tried disconnecting cord and it powered up and then I got it charging on the pad. Will look at the setting now, I saw that in the release notes and assumed it was on by default (silly me for thinking a valuable feature would be turned on). Thanks again, back in business until the next software landmine.
@jyoke - GPS is not my issue, I have the new antennas and no GPS issues. All of mine are software related I think at this point. Ignores NGZ’s so its on a never-ending search and destroy mission for my landscape lights and wife’s flowers, clear path to the dock but it can’t dock itself 25-30% of the time now. On the way to the dock when it gets to the path it gives an ultrasonic error like something is parked on the path, nothing is, its wide open. It solves the issue by doing the hokey pokey two or three times and then goes down the path to charge but then we hit the issue I already mentioned.
New antennas? Hopefully they made something dome shaped and more body flush…My reply was just a shot in the dark and agreeing with your experience. Oddly I had low GPS, but was putting it over 10ft away. Glad to see you got it sorted. Mine has been both more aggressive and less aggressive on NGZ. Fortunately only getting a couple inches in, but often a foot away. I had very little of these issues last year. Not sure if it is firmware or replacement core, leaning toward firmware from what I read.
Eeek, $66 for just 1 when you need 2, maybe 4 if you want on DC too? Sounds a bit much IMHO. Still sticks up too, so I suspect just as likely to get hung up and broken off. Hate to have to keep paying for that one.
You really only need 2, 3 if you want to upgrade the DC, but that is not needed if your DC is properly mounted in the open. Combine these with the flex mounts and they are much better overall. Much tougher and thicker plastic and more signal gain and multipath rejection. Couple that with impact resistance and deflection from the flex mounts, it is a significant worthwhile upgrade.
Understand, but seems a bit excessive to get what this is advertised to do. Also to overcome an obvious design flaw. It’s not that I mind paying something, but $122+ for whatever the flex mounts costs seems like a gouge. I mean most GPS antennas are a fraction of this…I m already $70 in on broken ones.
Well, if yours are breaking, support would send you the flex mounts as replacements. That is all they stock and ship any more. Even on new units. If you are having lots of GPS issues, they would send you the Pro RTK antennas (most likely). I hope they make those standard as well.
I’m bad, I don’t necessarily turn that in to support. First round I felt was my stupidity for letting go under a low branch. Old mower would do this and the antenna sticking up on Yarbo just did not cross my mind. I bought 2 because well that was on first use…second time (much later in season) got decapitated by a trailer I did not get back to the right spot…used the spare. Third time was mower went into no go zone, but busted the low mount and not the antenna (had protectors on). They are actually supposed to be sending the low mount, couldn’t buy it. I guess I am an odd user, I don’t want to nickel and dime them for things that were caused by me. I also don’t want to pay excessive amounts for upgrades and fixes to design flaws. Again I know what I was getting into when I bought this, I really want to support them. I have no issue with covering some of the improvement costs. If it was 2 for 60 they would have already been in the cart even though I still think it should be less…
Well I think the flex mounts should be 2 for the cost they sell them for. But the antennas are of much higher quality and I think the cost is justified given buying them on AliExpress is around the same cost and you can’t ensure you are getting a reputable manufacturer.
One of mine is my own flex mount. I don’t have the base (still waiting for it) and it is just connected to the wire which pulls it back in place. I have to cover it though as there is obvious possibility of water intrusion. Surprised how stable it is…
Ok wait, these are on pre order. Taking your feedback and knowing I have some points I figured I would do it. Also the flex mount are taller and also per @ 26 each. Was hoping to use my points toward the weed whacker attachment.
Well I have a good test for them. Currently I am mowing my neighbors yard. Unfortunately he passed away and trying to help his daughters. It continually gets stuck over there due to dense trees. Hopefully these will alleviate some of that.
Thanks Bryan. He was a great neighbor, refused any help. He was 92 when he passed. Push mowed over an acre up to last year, bagged too. Kind of made me feel bad. His daughters are struggling and welcomed the help of both his neighbors. Still feel guilty as it is Yarbo doing the work.
