I’m using Yarbo Core to tow a trailer around while doing 100 things around the house and sometimes I send Yarbo to some other location in my yard just to have it there driven autonomously without me having to walk by and steer using remote control. And whenever anyone is passing by, Yarbo stops and alerts with it’s ridiculous message about ‘person detected, move away! Yada, yada, yada’. That’s completely unnecessary, so turning this off would be great idea.
Of couse yarbo shouldn’t attack any static or moving obstacle while moving around the yard with or without trailer.
Did they remove “Person Detection” from safety settings? If not, you can toggle it off there.
No, there is only toogle switch to avoid obstacles or something.
That’s why i’m asking. If I will turn it off, won’t yarbo just run over my kid or any object which is not mapped as no-go?
I’d have to see what it says to be sure, but because you can’t turn off person detection it would stop for persons and animals still I would think.
Given the instant complaint I saw on a FB post, I think it was removed. Don’t use the SAM so I don’t know. I think obstacle avoidance mode would only apply to any auto plans like running a patrol line.
So that Person detected rubbish is alerted when I use the Waypoint navigation as described in this wiki [2024] Waypoint Navigation | Yarbo Wiki
Looks like according to the wiki How to Make the Most of Patrol Mode with the Yarbo SAM Module? | Yarbo Wiki, for patrol lines you can set the notifications and voice alerts etc., but I have never used that patrol mode nor i have any patrol lines created on map.
Also I wasn’t able to find in wiki what does the Obstacle Avoidance Mode setting does in this menu
… but while reading the Follow-Me description How to Use the Follow Me (Beta) Feature | Yarbo Wiki and noticing the " * No Obstacle Avoidance: The Smart Assist Module does not support obstacle avoidance during Follow Me mode." i remember when once using the follow-me Yarbo decided that it sees something else and were just driving somewhere and did not have any intention to avoid shed, greenhouse or myself standing in front of it … That makes me worry that with that setting turned off, Yarbo will just drive over everything and everyone in it’s path.
