Yarbo Firmware V3.11.0 & App V3.16.3 Update FAQs

Got questions after the new update? We’ve got answers!

  1. Q: Will Yarbo continue mowing from where it left off next time?

A: Yes — if the next schedule uses the same Work Plan, Yarbo will automatically continue mowing the unfinished area.
If you run a different Work Plan in between, Yarbo will treat it as a new job and start from the beginning when you go back to the old plan.
Yarbo keeps progress only for consecutive runs of the same Work Plan.

  1. Q: Why am I seeing rollover & tilt detection, lift detection, and rain detection notices even though I’ve disabled them?

A:After this update, Rollover & Tilt Detection, Lift Detection, and Rain Detection are enabled by default.
You can simply adjust these settings back to your preferred configuration — once updated, Yarbo will remember your selections for future use.

  1. Q:Where can I find Car Detection (Beta) settings for the Snow Blower?

A:You can find this option under Yarbo Settings → Safety Settings → Car Detection (Beta).

  1. Q: What’s the difference between using Gentle contact with Vision and without Vision?

A:

  • When Vision is enabled:
Yarbo will visually detect obstacles and slow down as it approaches them.
Once close enough, it will make light contact using the bumper to navigate around the obstacle smoothly.

  • When Vision is disabled:
Yarbo will rely solely on the bumper sensors for obstacle detection and avoidance.

  1. Q: What will happen to my no-vision zone after the feature is updated with the vision zone function?

A: Your existing no-vision zone will be automatically converted into a vision zone with the “Use Vision” option disabled.

  1. Q: Why can’t I see the camera view in Smart Vision after updating the app?

A: The camera view may be temporarily unavailable if your device firmware hasn’t been updated yet. Once the firmware update is installed, Smart Vision will work normally again.

  1. Q: Where is the tow mode?

A: Tow Mode is currently available only to a limited group of test users. The feature is still in testing and may need further improvement before being released to all users.

  1. Q: Why does Yarbo rotate near the docking station when undocking?

A:In some cases, the undocking path may result in an unexpected turn. We are refining the path planning logic, and a fix will be included in the next hotfix update.

Thanks posting this FAQ.

#8 seems to imply that defining the dock Pathway in specific way can avoid this. I’m more than willing to rework my dock Pathway to avoid this behavior NOW. Please advise.

Is this behavior new to 3.11.0? I like this approach.

I have noticed improvements in the vision in 3.11.0, Especially on avoidance maneuvers. It stays much tighter as it avoids perceived obstacles.

Yes it’s new and so is refined vision algorithms. It also sees obstacles from a lot father away. I watched mine plotting point clouds for stuff it normally detects in the zig zag during the perimeter run from quite a distance. It was pretty accurate too. Also like you said, does tend to hug a little closer.

Ok. Time for me to go outside and play with Yarbo…

So much for being productive at work today!

Productive at work is over rated.

I recommend retirement.

Good news: After running through two batteries blowing leaves, I can say that Yarbo did very well!

Most critically, the bug causing Yarbo to ‘dance’ when driving between two different work areas has been resolved. First time it’s ever been able to complete that task without manual intervention.

I’ve got one more day of leaf blowing, then it’ll be time to put on the snow blower and re-test the work areas I set up for it over the summer.

Thanks for asking. This undocking behavior is an issue on our side, so adjusting your pathway will not resolve it for now. Please kindly wait for the hotfix — we are working to address this.
