Thanks for your help ![]()
ok, I guess I spoke too soon…
when I swapped the antennas, the app almost immediately went from grey to green GPS, but after I told it to recharge, the unit wasn’t able to park itself on the dock, and it has gone back to orange and the diag #s still look horrible. I’ll have to wait a while longer to investigate, it’s pouring rain again ![]()
I’ll come back later this afternoon once I can do a power cycle, and more investigation without getting soaked.
Is your dock close to your house? That can hamper GPS signal.
This is sounding like a marginal antenna. Might want to open a ticket have them look at it and get some new ones sent. This is one of the more common failures.
Would definitely like to see those numbers when it’s sitting out in the middle of the yard in the wide open.
The dock is approx 15ft from the garage in an otherwise wide open area. I’m still waiting for the rain to stop so I can actually work on the darn thing again ![]()
The #s I posted above were while it was sitting in the middle of the yard… Totally wide open, no trees, no buildings, etc.
When I originally had the issues with the old core, I bought 3rd party antennas. The 3rd party antennas worked for approx 24hrs, then my battery stopped charging so they sent me a new core and new battery and new antennas. When the new core arrived I used the new antennas that came with the new core. Then the GPS issues started with the new core, so I switched to the 3rd party ones and briefly had signal, but now back to grey GPS. I’m still waiting for the damn rain to stop so I can actually investigate the problem.
Hi there, when submitting a support ticket, please include the troubleshooting steps you’ve already tried in as much detail as possible. This will help our support team better understand the issue and improve the efficiency of the troubleshooting process. Thank you for your cooperation!
Latest update…
This morning I was able to work on the Yarbo. I started by unplugging both the DC & the core for approx 1hr. Once they were both turned back on, the numbers were still quite bad…L2=6, Satelites=10, quality =.1, etc. I waited approx 1hr to see if anything changed, it did not. The DC details looked similar to those posted above, which should be ok I was told. At this point I wiggled/reseated the RTK antennas, but still no change. I swapped antennas left to right, still no change. Next I changed to another new set of antennas(keep in mind that this was the 3rd set of new antennas tried in the past week). The new antennas still showed similar bad #s, but I decided to try another power cycle. Shortly after power cycle, the #s still looked bad. Approx 1hr after the power cycle with the new antennas, the #s started looking good and now Yarbo is out cutting the grass. I’m not sure what to think about this… It seems kinda suspicious to me that 3 antennas went “bad”, 1 of which was not Yarbo brand antenna, on 2 different cores, in the matter of 1 week… Is this just poor antennas, or could the cores be “zapping” the antennas some how? It seems unlikely, but could something in my environment be causing this? I’m in a pretty rural area, so I doubt I’m being flooded with some sort of emi etc. It shouldn’t take an hour for the antennas to “lock in” should it?
Anyways, Yarbo is out doing it’s job again so I’m happy. Hopefully it continues on for an extended period this time ![]()
Thanks for the tip. I’ve still got my original ticket open and have been updating it with this same info.
Can’t recall if this came up, but have you tried swapping the DC RTK antenna? Maybe something intermittent with it.
When I originally started having GPS issues with the other core, I swapped the DC’s RTK antenna with a new one “just in case”. It didn’t seem to change anything, but at the same time this issue seems to have a bit of randomness about it so who knows…
I’m leaning towards a loose or bad RTK cable inside the core. If you want to rule out the DC, you could switch to NetRTK and see if that helps. Just back up your maps first since switching sometimes does wipe the maps.
Its been working fine all day, then halfway through it’s 3rd recharge, I found it paused right in the center of the wide open front yard… I didn’t receive a notification, but inside the app it said “Yarbo is out of boundary by 4.9ft”…It’s atleast 20ft to the nearest boundary. Still showed green GPS so I tried unpausing, it refused and said to move the unit into good GPS. I moved it 2", unpaused, it continued on with no problem
Maybe just a random glitch in the matrix
If I continue to have problems, I’ll check over all the RTK cables and try the NetRTK as you suggest ![]()
Definitely update the PPVS and or other ticket with this info.
I had this error and after many back and forths with support they told me it would be fixed in the next update.
After my last message, Yarbo finished cutting the remaining 10,000 sqft without issue and began recharging. Once the batt was back up to 100% and core just sitting on the dock, the GPS icon went grey again and diag #'s were bad again exactly like I posted above… I was curious if the GPS would come back on it’s own so I left it untouched… After about 6hrs, I got tired of waiting so decided to restart yarbo system from the app. After restarting, it took approx 1hr to show green GPS again(just like before). It’s still showing green this morning. ![]()
What do you mean by “update the PPVS”? Try changing the PPVS values?
Disregard. Getting threads crossed. ![]()
