My experience on the updates and performance after the updates this morning: Updated both firmware and app about 2 hours ago… sent YARBO Snowblower out to clean up the drifts and noticed some issues (showed error with left camera being disconnected which showed briefly, then I restarted app and it showed briefly again and off then never showed again that left camera was disconnected) and never previously had any issues there before update, but again it went away at least for now and cameras all working. **Also, it changed the start point of my mapped area… it usually started on West front right side of my driveway, then to street (where I mapped it) then over to other far side of driveway (East) up and across the entrance to my garage and then worked its way from West most (cleaning North and South) towards the far east. This time, after the update, it did the first part completely opposite working from East to West on the first outline portion then completed in same fashion as before. Odd that the mapping directions changed?
What is your perimeter direction set to for that area? As for the camera, I’ve noticed that the rover appears booted long before it says ready to work. You can even connect to the core and everything but you will see quite a few errors and almost always this error. It will clear on its own when fully booted. Basically, wait for ready to work and see if you have any errors after. If so, open a ticket so they can check it out.
The new Firmware is here, the new Firmware is here!!! I’m somebody now!!!
Oops sorry all. A little Steve Martin flashback.
Now if I just had some new snow for Jack to play around in!!![]()
Thanks for sharing your feedback on the new firmware, and we appreciate the detailed observations. We’re glad to hear that the camera issue has resolved itself and that everything appears to be working normally now.
Regarding the change in the starting point and route direction, this could be related to the perimeter direction settings for that work area. Could you please double-check those settings and see if anything has changed? That may help explain the difference you’re seeing.
Thanks again for taking the time to report this, and please let us know what you find.
Thank you for the detailed response, the perimeter direction settings did indeed change after the update, that caused YARBO to approach running the map work area from different angles and caused me a lot of grief. I will reverse it and see if that fixes that. HOWEVER, last night I sent him out to clean another 3 inches of snow, after finishing and heading to recharge he ran into my plastic garbage cans (COLLISION ALERT) and stopped, I had to tell him to go to charging manually, then he had an issue parking (never not able to park on pad previously before the update) and then went completely OFFLINE… he is now not working at all. Why would it do this and is there a procedure simply to reboot him (like a computer) without having to reset everything back up (wifi, bluetooth, etc, etc…)?

The best way to reboot is through the app under safety settings restart. Alternatively you can unplug the battery cable for 5 mins. This often helps with common issues. The best sequence here is to unplug the DC power and the core battery cable for 5 mins, plug in the DC and then plug in and turn on the core.
The dock may have been slippery or covered by ice and snow from the storm. I have noticed it’s a little more persistent about being perfect in this version but mine docks every time. Just takes a little longer.
The update totally killed my robots ability to work autonomously…. ![]()
Endless ..
Failed to plan route
Drive robot into area
Camera disconnected
It doesn’t recognize the sidewalks … it doesn’t recognize all paths from zone to zone…. Can’t return to recharge…
Really need a way to revert to previous software !!!
Have you unplugged the battery cable for 5 mins and see if things improve? Some of what you are describing could be a result of the changes. Example, it will route plan prioritize areas with the snow blower label and it will also not plan a route if a NGZ is completely blocking access to parts of area. You do have screenshots or anything that could help to see if some tweaks might resolve it for you?
I only have snowblow zones now… last update caused the same @#_$ thing I had to wipe all maps and start from scratch.
I am once again deleting everything and starting again… we got 25cm last night so the firmware timing sucked big time…. Every single firmware has broken something.
There are sooo many things that need fixing everytime they do something it’s rediculous.
I’ve decided in the spring that I’m making my lawn zones same style as the old bury a wire unit I had…. Forget no go zones and make perimeter around things so robot actually mows the area like it used to way back in the beginning.
They coulda just come straight out and said “ hey we’re making a trimmer so we’re adjusting the software so everyone needs to buy it “
Oh btw.. it’s 109% caused by firmware changes as I used it yesterday and it worked perfectly everywhere…
I’m having the same issues as you, mine keeps crashing into my car 100 times instead of plastic trash bins though, and I have to manually move it, resume, boom right into the car again. My cars front bumper is now all scratched up. Also my yarbo keeps riding off of the side of the dock a lot when trying to go re-charge.
None of this was an issue AT ALL until after the update.
It seems to now be in love with my car instead of just avoiding it like it used to, and now that its infatuated with my car it uses up all of the battery trying to get closer and closer to my car in the driveway instead of avoiding it, the yarbo moves around like it’s lost.
The yarbo has yet to complete snow blowing my driveway and apron once this storm. I’m going to just have to manually go snow blow everything.
Also I’m going to have to take the car into the body shop next week to get a quote for repairing the damage the yarbo caused.. Im really frustrated with this thing as of right now, and im regreting my purchase, huge mistake apparently.
I never had these issues with it before yesterday and today.
I do really like the robot …. Its the software people I want to torture a little with pliers and a blow torch…. I own a lot of electronic things and some pretty pricey toys…. Yes doing a firmware thing can awaken hidden glitches but this is just rediculous…. I do not know how or on what units they “ test “ the firmware before releasing it but geeeess do better…. Maybe make a group of owners that want to get newest and then have them test for a month to figure out then fix it and release it to the masses.
I don’t regret the purchase as I’m a kickstarter phase one so the price was great compared to now.
But I honestly can’t say I trust the robot to be unattended with the snowblower… mower was fine. I have security cameras on my garage so most times I watch the robot as there have been some serious issues. For example when doing the end of my driveway it doesn’t always adjust the chute and throws things at passing cars!!! Lawsuit waiting to happen.
I have pretty much always had to manually use the app on my phone while watching the security camera feed on my tablet to clear my driveway.
Don’t fix your car until the robot+snowblower are no longer needed couple months from now spring time…. More damage is not outa the question.
I was able to replicate the weird driving backwards issue that popped up after the latest firmware update.
The workplan is for my main driveway area. Looks like after the driveway area is complete, instead of just turning around and driving to the dock (normal behavior), Yarbo instead decided to interact with a series of sidewalks I created at the driveway’s apron. The sidewalks and Apron are NOT a part of this workplan though, and Yarbo should not be interacting with the apron at all.
This main driveway zone has been 100% reliable up until the new firmware was installed late last night. Nothing else was changed. So I must surmise that the firmware update is what is causing this new behavior.
Here’s the video:
Ah overlaps and sidewalks. The bane of support.
also having camera issues. glad to know it’s not just me
Just for giggles -
If the apron is tagged as S1, Untag it.
When the job ends, I’ve noticed that if mine is on a stack of overlapped areas (where my driveway overlaps my apron), the nav-back-to-dock job sometimes picks the apron as the area it is in, even though it’s in the driveway (and had just finished the driveway). It’ll then use a path to get to the driveway area (the sidewalks, in your case) .
There’s a chance that by having the driveway tagged, but not the apron, it’ll pick the driveway as where it is.
If that doesn’t work, untag all the sidewalks (if they are). That’ll make them lower priority than the pathway from the driveway to the apron, assuming that pathway has an S1 tag. And yes, your core will head over to that pathway if it thinks it’s in the apron when the docking-job starts.
Mind kind of died yesterday, so I can’t test it. But if you give it a try, post back with results about area tagging, if you can.
Charging seems to get off and off after FW3.12 updates. (ticket #153194)
I think I need your technical help for charging. I recall that once it fully charged the light turns GREEN SOLID and app says “battery care active”. But after 100% charge, it still flashing GREEN which means still charging, right? Is this supposed to be SOLID GREEN instead of blinking according to your instructions?
I was forcefully recharging after manually move out, then, now it’s FLASHING BLUE but app says “Battery care active” with 100% which doesn’t make sense at all.
Shortly, even the app says 100% charged with ‘battery care active’ - docking light is flashing GREEN or BLUE (sometimes). Is this docking system issue or battery issue? I already reset the battery.
I don’t think that the app has that option of tag for the sidewalk since mine doesn’t. Area has the labels options if you meant the tag as S1 - snowblower.
So I went and deleted all the sidewalks on the driveway apron and ran the job again.
This time, it completed as expected and Yarbo went directly back to the dock.
Something is really broken with sidewalks. And it’s not getting better.
