Leaf Blower Module Rear Mount

When I preordered my Yarbo core in June 2024 it was advertised that the leaf blower module would be the first supported module to be mounted on the rear of the unit. With the design of the trimmer and edger modules mounting to the mower module, it really had the appeal of a Swiss army knife for yard care. This was one of the many reasons I preordered the 4-N-1 bundle as it would maximize the Spring through fall use of the machine and I would only have to once a year swap over to the snow blower module for winter. Having to swap modules all the time really removes the autonomy of the unit.

Having the rear mounted leaf blower made a lot of sense with the trimmer so that I could blow off my driveway and sidewalks after trimming and edging. Well, things have changed and the trimmer is the first module that is going to be supported mounted on the rear. The edger has been put on hold for now and the leaf blower is not supported at all for rear mount.

In the Yarbo CEO AMA it was mentioned that it would be considered if there was strong demand from the Yarbo users. I am putting this request here to poll users if they would like the leaf blower to be rear mounted. I’ll caveat that I don’t want this prioritized over some of the fundamental software bugs and other priority fixes. But, IMHO the hardware team should prioritize this mounting solution in the interim while the software team focuses on those fixes.

Please give this post a heart if you would like to see this feature supported.

Mounted on the back seems like a natural fit. Could leave it in place as long as the software knows the unit is longer and needs more room for turns and such.

Mow then clean the clippings off the sidewalks and driveways without human intervention. Love it!

I’ve been waiting a long time for this. In a live Ken K hosted a year ago it was said that the blower could be mounted on the back. He probably forgot to tell the production team to do it.

The promise that the blower would mount on the back was what convinced me to buy the blower. I haven’t even gotten it out of the package because it isn’t what I paid for.

Same. I was told in person (at a live event in Long Island) that was how it would work.

@Yarbo-Forum any comment here?

I also expected it to go on the back. I own 2 and never use them now. They have sat on the shelf since delivered. It would also counter the weight of the m1 which makes the rear go in the air on slopes!

And add a rear bumper too!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts — we really appreciate the clear and thoughtful way you’ve laid out your expectations.

We’ve definitely seen the strong interest in rear-mount support for the leaf blower, and yes, this is something we’ve considered before. It’s still on our product roadmap, and I’ll be sure to pass along your continued enthusiasm and feedback to our product team.

That said, the priority for this feature may not be very high at the moment, as we’re currently focused on resolving some major issues and improving overall system stability. Still, feedback like yours plays an important role in shaping what comes next.

THIS!!

… should be one of the key drivers for developing new features.

I don’t have my Yarbo yet, but I hope to get it this week.

But I can’t help but think about the coming winter and how convenient it would be if the snow blade could also be attached to the back, so I could use both options, without the hassle of changing the snow blade and frozen fingers.

The snow plow requires the S1 snow blower currently and that would only be able to be front mounted. There is no lift actuator on the rear. While it would be nice if front and rear were completely interchangeable, I don’t think that’s currently possibly with this design. I really would like this too, just not sure if that’s something they can achieve at this point. Static mounted attachments are definitely possible.

I second the expectations that Bryan had. I was assuming the original planned mounting locations would be delivered as they made perfect sense. Mow, trim, edge, blow made complete and total sense to me. Also, the ballast on the back from the blower could help in some areas. The modular Swiss-Army approach makes this product very appealing. Having a warm weather setup that does all of the expected tasks, with the option of converting to a cold weather setup at the end of the season was a very compelling reason to go with a Yarbo. Thanks for considering a rear mount. As another person mentioned, Yarbo should be able to compensate for the added rear length when using the back mounted blower. Maybe the mount should also extend camera and proximity sensing as well.
Thanks!
