Just getting my footing with the core and mapping.
Haven’t even hooked up the blower and waiting on the Mower-Pro module. Testing the data center and mapping before a permanent installation.
I live on a lake and am terrified this thing is gonna try and get wet. Is there a way to set the lake as a no go with out adding a bunch of no go boxes and circles?
Having the core draw the complex line but then be able to shape the lake side?

Give the lake a good buffer zone. 10FT if you are comfortable with that (or more). Use the core to draw that buffer NGZ right beside the lake. Think of it like a DMZ. Keep your PPVS travel distances (under settings, Yarbo Labs) lower if you have trouble with GPS in locations near the lake. You don’t need to NGZ the whole lake, just access to it. Alternatively you could use NGZ templates to place along the lake perimeter. But, if you don’t have problems with GPS, the NGZ really isn’t necessary. It should follow your mapped boundary lines pretty reliably. Poor GPS is what could cause it to exceed that boundary inadvertently. That’s where keeping the PPVS settings low and the safety buffer will help.

I’m going to go out a map a couple zones tomorrow and set up pathways. I’m assuming since I only have the blower I can run it as kind of a mower simulation to see how it will behave? Can you run snowblower routes without the module attached? Since it don’t it yet either.

You should be able to somewhat simulate the mower and snow blower with the blower. I think the patterns are a little different but it’ll give you an idea. But, ideally you would map with the module you intend to primarily use the area for. The mower is longer and so is the snow blower. So when you do get these things make sure you keep an eye on the perimeter runs and you may have to edit or remap as needed.

Ahhhhhhh ok I didn’t know you map with the attachment. Makes sense. I have been using the just the core and assumed it did the necessary adjustment for the dimensions.

That’s a logical assumption and in certain aspects of the code it does. But it’s not 100% yet. It will work mapping with any module. But you don’t get the settings for the module you intend to use unless that module is attached. And then you have some of the size differences to worry about as previously mentioned. It’s still not a bad idea to play around and experiment with what you have though. You’ll learn a lot by doing so. Once you have figured it all out, then focus on making your maps and all the finer details like no go zones, etc. Don’t get hung up on making the map perfect the first time. Start small, experiment, expand out, delete, start over, learn and refine.
