Mower or Mower Pro

I purchased the Yarbo Snowblower and other than the “belt issue”, things have been as expected. Unseen bonus, the Yaro purchase has made the climate to cold to snow and now its going to be too warm to snow. Still holding out for a couple of early spring snow storms.

Now its time to start thinking about a mower module. I’m really undecided which way to go on the mower module and I now this is my decision, but opinions are appreociated.

Slight incline/decline in the yard, mostly grass, and a few tress on a single acre. I typically mow the front yard twice a week and the rest of the yard once a week. Would be good to mow all of it twice a week. I would benefit from the trimmer being hauled around the yard as well.

Is the added cost worth the increased power? I do like the blades as opposed to the discs. But I’m old and its just always been that way.

Any opinions/experiences wouldbe appreciated.

Personally, I think the Pro is worth the added cost. It is a great mower module. No limitations like clogging due to wet or thick grass. I’ve taken down small tree saplings and really tall and thick grass with it. I think it gives a nice cut and leaves behind less stragglers compared to the discs. It is far better mulching up leaves, the discs won’t hardly do anything with them. The M1 is a nice mower too, but you have to keep up with the cuts. Micromulching is key there for the best performance. Otherwise you have to send it a few times to get the clean cut appearance. It struggles in thick grass types. At certain heights, like higher than 3 inches on the thick cool season grasses it can make the grass appear pushed over. The Mower Pro you can go much higher, and with the lift, it doesn’t have this appearance.

Personally I have the M1 and have only used it a few times. The Pro wasn’t out yet. I can’t justify having 2 and there is no market for used modules yet so I am stuck with it. If I was to do it over I would definitely go with the Pro. It just gives more all around flexibility. Always better to operate equipment below their capabilities then to push it to the limit.

My 2 cents.

As the others have said, go pro. The M1 is only good if you have dry grass.

If you have not purchased either one yet, then go with the pro. That is what I bought, and I feel I can do more because it has the real Straight Blades like the regular lawnmower. You still can get with it the small Cutting Blades too.

The M1 is great if you have a “low complexity” lawn that you plan to mow often in dry conditions. If you have damp areas that grow faster then the rest of the lawn, or rough grass (strange thick swamp grass in the damp areas), then go with the PRO. The blade system on the PRO is very nice and robust with stronger motor mounts to accommodate the heavier duty of the PRO.

Ok, I’m hearing the same reasoning the voices in my head are telling me.

Just wanted to hear from some experienced users.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to respond, greatly appreciated.
