My first set of blades

Replaced my first set of blades. First mow was May 8th 2025. 2.9 acres has been mowed a couple of times. I’d give accurate numbers if the “work plan history” functioned. I’ll update if I can remember once that bug is fixed.

I’m not blaming Yarbo, my new to me yard has a lot of hidden surprises.

I had two blades broken before I replaced all 10 of them. I have gotten a few “Right Cutting Motor Blocked” messages.

Again, not Yarbo’s fault. He is very good at finding chunks of metal and larger hunks of sticks hidden in the grass. Hidden from me as I have walked the mow area several times and keep finding stuff that isn’t good for Yarbo.

Just wanted to share.

All in all I’m happy with Yarbo.

I have been getting about 80 hours of life from my blades. But I am mowing a rough 6 acres. In that time I have broken 4 discs as well. Slowly I am finding all the hidden rocks, saplings, and old irrigation on the property. I am sure the advertised 150hours would be correct on a normal lawn.

Ken,

Like you I am happy with my Yarbo. As with any new technology it took me a while to determine my best set of adjustments, speeds, blades and overlap. I removed the blade guards and installed the titanium coated blades (included with Yarbo). I decided to slow down to slow speed and overlap 4 inches. I selected zero area extension and zero area reduction. I mow at 2.8 inches and selected the option to mow the interior of the area prior to mowing the perimeter along with gentle contact obstacle avoidance. My yard is 3 acres which I have divided into 3 work areas. It is flat with Argentine Bahia grass, some assorted palm trees and some areas I designated as no-go zones. It takes about an entire day to mow each area and I generally keep Yarbo working each day with maybe one day per week to rest. With this configuration I am pleased to report that my lawn appears like it was cut by professionals with straight and uniform mowing lines. Once the Florida afternoon rains get here (I think they began this week) I will probably run Yarbo every day and maybe some nights. I would be pleased to recommend Yarbo to anyone who needs a heavy duty autonomous mower for a large area. There are smaller, less expensive mowers for one-quarter acre lots but only Yarbo will handle the big jobs.

@kmurray6113 Thanks for sharing your insights. Food for thought in there…

Here’s what mine look like after a month with a disc switch-a-roo in the middle. The other 5 look Identical.

You’re not going to cut yourself on these. The titanium coated ones are on now. Do they actually hold up any better?

Mine do. Been on for at least a month, maybe more, and sharp as ever. I mow about 12 hours per day.

Good news! Thanks @kmurray6113.

My Titanium ones don’t last any longer. But then again, my Yarbo is driving the cutting height below 1.2 inches on occasion mid mow.

I hope that gets resolved quickly for you. I’ve been lucky so far with no significant issues - excluding the software related ones I was prepared for.

I think it resolved itself today. The cutting height motor doesn’t adjust height anymore at all. Blades stay at fully retracted.

Time for Yarbo Support to shine!

Has a new definition of “resolved” come to light since I went to bed last night?

Yes. It has resolved my ability to DINK with it to get it going.
