We had almost 10” of snow here in Southern New Hampshire over the last 24 hours. My Yarbo worked like a charm, clearing snow (4000 sq. ft driveway and 600 sq. ft walkway) three times without any issues. However, at the end of the 3rd run, it stopped suddenly on the pathway to the docking station, claiming that there is “no snow throwing directions” set on the pathway. I went to the pathway edit and confirmed that the snow throwing directions have somehow disappeared. I added the snow throwing directions again, saved it and asked it to recharge. But it keeps throwing the same error. Re-starting Yarbo doesn’t help. I gave up after trying to add the snow throwing directions multiple times. I had to manually walk my Yarbo to the docking station. Has anyone seen this issue lately after the latest software upgrade to V3.11.7?
Basically, the solve for it right now is to make sure that all areas or pathways you have mapped have a snow throwing direction set.
If it was me, I’d start by adding throwing directions to all areas between your dock and your driveway/walkway. Then see if that resolves it. If not, keep adding throwing directions to other areas until the problem goes away.
Super annoying of course, but it’ll get you back up and running.
I found this to be a case of something “under” the pathway. A lawn mowing work area without a snow throwing direction in my case.
The error message doesn’t indicate “where” the problem is. It could say something like no snow throwing direction on Area 1.
That would be helpful and make it clear where the problem was. Fixing it on “Area 1” may lead to an error message saying no throwing direction set on “Area 2”.
Thank you, Rgloverii and Ken! Yes, this seems to have resolved the issue. Last winter, I didn’t have this issue - because I had a dedicated path from the docking station to the snow blowing arrea. This year, I am trying to use the same path that I created for the lawn mowing. This bug seems to be intermittent as it didn’t complain about missing snow-throwing directions earlier when I didn’t have snow-throwing directions set for the lawn mowing area.
I was getting these errors occasionally the last couple days, and even some mapping errors and it couldn’t calculate a route. I did do some map edits so that may have contributed. I was able to use smart vision to drive part way there and then it worked. I restarted Yarbo and everything seems to be working again.
The same thing has been happening to me since the last update….. even after “ fixing it “ it keeps reoccurring after every dock…. I have deleted my mow pathway and made a new one but after docking it will give the same error…. It does show the snow direction on the map so its just ignoring it….. only thing ive been able to do is manually drive robot into a zone …. I have 2 sidewalks, driveway , and end of driveway mapped…. I now get “ paths missing may not be able to dock “ but it alway does dock successfully….. on 2 seperate occasions I started the end of driveway by itself and robot did a 90 degree turn on docking station and drove off the side of the docking station directly into trees and rocks…. Thankfully i was watching and stopped as quick as i could….. brutal ….
The map is seeing every path, zone , etc…. As missing the snow throwing direction…. Including every zone and path for mower, leaf blower, ( everything )
…. User must give a snow throw direction to everything on the map regardless….
Devs needs to do something to differentiate between the paths use for each attachment ..
Well crap spoke too soon….. if you add snow throw direction to mower areas then it causes the “ can’t create route “ …..
Basically you must delete everything not snowblower from your map and redo that next spring…. Only then will it work until the next update breaks something else ofcourse
Hi there, I’m really sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. As others have mentioned in this thread, at the moment all work areas need a snow-throwing direction in order for a work plan to start.
Regarding the docking issue you described, we apologize for the trouble caused by that bug. It should have been fixed in the latest hotfix, so you shouldn’t see that behavior anymore.
As for the “failed to calculate route” problem, could you please share your map with us? That will help me—and our helpful community members—take a closer look and possibly identify what’s causing it.
Thank you for your patience, and we’ll do our best to help get things running smoothly again.
@Yarbo-Forum I dont think that is 100% accurate. I have work areas that do not have snow throwing direction and my snow plan executes fine. Here is my map:
If the areas are disconnected then yarbo knows it can’t use them so it’s not necessary to have snow throw direction. I mean charging station. I found it eventually.
