So I’m just getting started with my snow blowing experience and I have had a few bumps along the way. Today was the second day of use and it went much better. But I had to redo a map for my driveway to clean up some problems. This time, all went well until Yarbie hit 100% of the task. Instead of attempting to return to the charging station, he sat there and complained that he didn’t have any snow throwing direction. The app suggested I needed to add detail to the map. But the area and the path connecting the area to the charging station (on which he used to get the task completed) both have plenty yellow borders. If I restart the task at 99%, he dutifully starts blowing over his final bits all over again. Then he stops at 100% and complains again. I manually returned him to the station and, after a charge session, sent him out on a different job. Clean up in front of the shipping containers! Zoom, off he goes across the lot in a different direction and cleans a path to the area in front of the doors. But at 100% complete, same issue. Obviously, I’m missing something in that he feels lost between the end of his task and the path home. Ideas?
I was having this similar issue. Give every area that could have a throw direction one-even the exterior of your areas that don’t have to do with S1. I gave everything a direction and that solved the problem.
Make sure all pathways, areas, sidewalks, etc have a yellow line. No matter if it’s small because you don’t care about snow removal in that area or whatever. Just needs to have something set.
Yeah it seemed odd to me too. Had to put a blow direction on an area the gets mowed because there was a pathway that went through it.
Ok…. Whatever…
What if you don’t want it to blow to the sides and blowing straight as low as possible is the best option until it gets to another area? When it asks to draw a direction and I click next on a pathway it seems ok with that. All the areas that need to be traversed need a line for sure though
The default without a line is throw forward. It should respect that for pathways but seems like sometimes it may not be. It should respect that for an area too but still wants one I guess.
I ran into this today as well. I had to add an additional pathway connecting two areas that overlaid each other and add a throw direction. I didnt run into this issue last winter. It’s pretty much the same layout. I remapped because I wanted to straighten out some lines.
I still have a sidewalk that is giving this error. I’ll try adding a snow direction on my lawn and see if that fixes it. That never crossed my mind.
Edit: I added a throw direction to my front lawn that borders the sidewalk. It seems like that fixed it. At least it will generate a preview now. I’ll actually test it tomorrow.
So the basic solution is mentioned: identify all intersecting map items - even if they are not related to snow blowing - and add a throw detail to the object. In my case, I had a path that crossed the driveway to link two lawn areas. Yarbie happened to finish his task near that path and was stymied.
As a solution, I think the “labelling” used in the map feature (e.g., Lawn or Snow) is a primary flaw and needs to be rethought. Yarbie can cut grass, snow blow, string trim and blow leaves. This 1) is a busy map!; 2) prone to selection errors (as layering becomes an issue); and 3)doesn’t accommodate the variety of functions easily (why would I only blow leaves on my lawn or on my driveway? I should be able to define those areas exclusive to a module).
The solution is distinct layers (e.g., no-go zones that affect all layers, no-go zones that are associated only with one module, and a layer for each module (at least!). Layers are a part of almost every drawing and image management tool (e.g., photoshop or illustrator) and it should be part of a more developed interface for Yarbie.
Of course, this means that the developers need to stop what they are doing and focus specifically on my issue!![]()
@HoneyTimBer Facts + 1,000,000
I’m hoping someone can help me out on whatever im missing. I have this issue and I added throw directions to everything - and its nuts we have to do this at all - but I am still getting the error when I go into the app. I’ve attached my map, guessing im missing one??
Anyone see what I may be missing? (of course, this is just one issue, not finding a GPS is a major issue as well - started 2 months ago and hasn’t resolved since)
Looks like everything has one to me. Let’s try and solve the GPS issue as then you can troubleshoot the snow throw directions then. Can you post a screenshot of your diagnostics (RTK, status, Data Center, HaLow) Sections? You can omit the GNGGA information (your GPS coordinates).
Where is Yarbo’s dock?
Don’t forget, you need snowblowing directions for the path leading to the dock too.
My old eyes missed that. Thx.
Although it looks disabled? Maybe it’s just the view.
I went bonkers and outlined 360° everything that is allowed to make it go away.
Hi there! From the map you shared, it looks like all areas already have snow-throwing directions set, so the unit should work correctly. Could you please try running a work plan again to see if the issue still exists? If it does, please submit a support ticket and include the details so our support team can assist you further.
Regarding the GPS issue, have you tried the troubleshooting steps provided by our support team? If the problem continues after trying those steps, please let us know and we’ll move on to the next step.
I got one randomly today too…thought it was just a fluke
