Even when smart turns are enabled, the yarbo frequently tank turns (when the tank treads move in opposite directions). I’d love to see an option that completely disables tank turns. The treads would always move in the same direction and could only turn by having them move at different speeds (but not in different directions). Moreover, in the same option, I’d like to be able to set a tolerance for how different the tread speeds can be (forcing wider turns). I’m completely ok that this would cause many routes to not be able to generate, or that it could easily get stuck while operating.

Hi there. At the moment, Yarbo doesn’t offer a setting to completely disable zero turns, but there are a few ways to reduce stress on the grass and manage turning behavior:
- Mark No-Go Zones on affected areas and allow the grass to recover.
- Change Route Pattern – using Spiral Pattern enforces Smart Turns, or you can adjust route angles to vary mowing paths. If you’re using Parallel Pattern, try adjusting the Route Rotation Angle to change turning locations.
- Use Multiple Dead Ends – creating additional dead ends helps limit turnings and reduces stress on a single spot.
Looking ahead, we’re working on a turning optimization update so Yarbo will automatically vary turning positions to avoid over-stressing the same patch of grass. In some cases, Yarbo may even switch to Zero Turn automatically when needed.
