📢 Please Update Your Yarbo App and Firmware to Stay Connected

I did not open a ticket.

I restarted the app to no effect. I restarted the Core by shutdown/start-up via the physical button and that I believe resolved my issue.

This reinforces my strong belief that auto-updates is a BAD IDEA. If I was on vacation for a couple weeks and this happened I’d be screwed.

Yarbo needs to provide a “Disable Automatic Updates” switch in the software to prevent auto-updates for when owners know they are going to be away for days/weeks.

Agree. Cascading SW / HW issues are not enjoyable. Give us the option to install when we’re ready and not a forced update after a 12 hrs delay (approximately).

Ticket Id #202878, however the last couple days it seems to be working better!

I also did not open a ticket. Yesterday it all worked perfect again. Today at 13:30 Amsterdam time again the DC with firmware V1.0.25 Blacked out all communication! No Halow, no GPS. Amb temperature is 35 deg C at the moment here, so I thought, could the DC be overheated? After an hour of waiting I pulled the plug of the DC, waited a minute and re-plugged, everything came back online and Yarbo continued mowing .

These kind of in-controlable bugs give doubt to a beatifull product, while I have seen Yarbo can mow this 5 acre terrain with over 200 NGZ’s. I have a historical terrain in the Netherlands, a lot of people are watching… (Google Hof Ilpenstein) and you can see the challange. Happy to share data with the team.

Any idea what happened with the DC?

I have seen instances where routers will block yarbo’s connection. Best work around if you are not there is to plug the poe injector into a wifi plug in, then you can remotely reboot the dc anytime.

Can you connect to the core VIA bluetooth when this happens? If so, screenshot the diagnostics (RTK, status, data center, HaLow sections). If HaLow = False, then it is a communications issue DC to core. Cellular being enabled could allow the core to failover to the internet. As long as the DC has an internet connection as well, it will continue to operate just fine. If it doesn’t have an internet connection (the DC), then it would stop the moment HaLow disconnects (even with cellular enabled).

I’m seeing the same behavior this week. I’ve had to reset the DC 4 times this week to get RTK back.

So odd some have issues some don’t. What bug was in that last mini update?

The DC has been unstable for me since day one. I schedule a reboot with a smart plug every 2-weeks. Without that it typically crashes within a month and fails over to cellular. Other’s have reported similar behavior at different intervals.

I had a similar problem today. A few retrieved before the app acknowledged that the mower existed and asked me to add a device. Later in the day, it finally started to work.

I do a 3:37 am power down on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Today’s mowing efforts had 5 collisions along well defined paths

  • never let the electronic devices think that they can control you - T Edison

Had multiple collisions with a fence today that it never has issues with. GPS was strong. I can’t figure it out.

This is typically the app not communicating with Yarbo’s servers for whatever reason. Usually force closing the app and reopening it will resolve this (as long as your phone has internet).

In an out of app, phone reboot, even power cycled all routers didn’t help

Must’ve been a temporary issue locally or something. Haven’t heard anyone else complain today about not being able to connect.

Hi Bryan,

What you discribe is exactly what happens. I can only Connect with the core via Bluetooth, even with cellulair on. Halow = false and no GPS.

Other applications via internet on the location work fine and are approachable.

My first Yarbo had a serious (Yarbo only) accident, however the DC did not fail that core. When a new core arrivered the issue suddenly came after connecting the core to the existing DC (which updated at that time V1.1.2). The issue started after a few mowing plans

The dealer told me the new core is later release than the previous one. I could not get de DC to work, so the dealer gave me a new DC whichI had to bring to the top of the building (50 ft) with scaffolding

That new DC had starting issues V1.0.23 but after updating the firmware to 1.0.25 it started to communicate after a few hours. Then Yarbo started the mowing plans and a day after at 13:30 the same communication failure happened.

The Halow communication stabbility worries me a littlebit. The Yarbo stops immidiatly when GPS signal is gone, I Don’t expect the Halow to fail too. I can,t do anything anymore when it happens and the Yarbo is 1500 ft from my home. If it remains in a pathway nobody can get it out of the way.

Have you put a smart outlet into the POE injector to be able to power cycle the DC? Usually this helps fix HaLow disconnect issues. Turn it off for at least 1-2 mins and then back on. This lets the injector fully drain the capacitors.

Are you working with your dealer on this at all or have an open ticket? If cellular is enabled and working, if HaLow is disconnected, you should still be able to connect to the core using it. Unless cellular signal is unavailable too.

Hi,

Just bought a smart connector so I can cycle the DC power remotly if needed , thx for this fix.

yes, I ‘m in good contact with the dealer and main importer in the Netherlands, also with Some other users, helping eachother. Not too many Yarbo’s in the Netherlands yet as it,s not too long on the market here. And I like this forum as it provides quick solutions and answers as the dealer and importer do not always know the answer to specific issues I face, for example the DC/Halow I struggled with.

If you have frequent issues with dc, the wifi switched plug is a great easy solution. It has been over a year now that yarbo said they would fix this issue, but as of today the issue is still there.

If you notice a pattern to when HaLow disconnects, you can maybe use a scheduler to power cycle that smart outlet to get ahead of the issue until Yarbo has a proper software fix. I would definitely keep pushing the dealer to push Yarbo for that permanent fix.
