Yesterday evening Yarbo stopped working in the middle of the scheduled mowing plan. Side lights changing colors and orange light on top blinking. Didn’t notice how long it had done so but when I went to inspect what’s the problem the application showed that Yarbo is disconnected and suggested that maybe I had a network issue. Quickly checked that DC light was green and it had internet connection. I didn’t had time to deal with this issue more closely so when I returned home later in the night Yarbo only had the 2 back lights what changes colors on. Application still shows that it’s disconnected. So I did all the usual. First pressed the power button about a minute and Yarbo turned itself off but didn’t restart. So seconds push to the power button to get the core powered on again. Now all the lights started flashing and the mower unit tilted all the way to front, then back and then in the center position again. Like it always have done when I have needed to made the restart. After this usually in a minute or 2 the Yarbo have announced that it is “ready to work”. Not this time. The flashing lights where I’m about 10 minutes and then only again the back side lights where on. I did the usual DC power down, charging pad power down and disconnected the battery. Also disconnected the mower unit as I had to carry the brick back to the charging pad. It’s way easier or maybe also the only way to do it if you carry battery, mower and the core one by one back to the charging pad.
After assembly I powered everything on again. DC showed always green light and had internet connection and 40+ all the different types of satellites. Same thing. Core initialize the startup but is unable to really start.
So I thought maybe the battery doesn’t have enough juice. I connected the wired charger and let it charge overnight.
Just now I have done all the power down and up procedures again but nothing helps. Yarbo is again a garden gnome like ornament with flashing lights.
Have been standing next to it in a hope of getting connected using bluetooth. Nope.
Anyone have some idea what else to do what I haven’t already thought myself?
The last core what was replaced under warranty was basically bricked on the moment it updated itself… Yarbo has just announced that it has started rolling out new update… It’s hard not to see the similarities here for me.
@Yarbo-Forum can you please see that my yet another problem will be quickly resolved. I have emailed almost the same information yesterday to ticket 100135
Hi there, I’m really sorry to hear about the issue. Just to clarify, this may not be related to the update, as we don’t begin pushing the firmware until after all users have received the update email. I’ve already reached out to our support team to review your case as quickly as possible. Thank you very much for your patience and understanding!
As a side note, what version of the core do you have? Is that the 2023? I ask because the charging dock seems very different to mine (Mine is a rectangle, nothing protrudes in the back). And your Halow antenna is on an orange support. I notice a few other differences…
And maybe you may wish to remove the winter extensions for your RTK antennas? Some day you’ll hit something… Just and unsolicited suggestion…
That’s a 24 on a 23 dock. The upgrade program let you upgrade the core and modules but you kept the dock and battery since they were compatible. The Halow thing is a 3d printed protector users have fabricated for it. They made similar ones for the GPS antennas too.
Bryan is correct in everything and to add to his information the extensions to the GPS antennas are the flexible ones Yarbo sent me to test. They worked great until the core unit died on me again.
I do highly recommend to use those 3D printed protections. They have saved me many antenna replacements. Both GPS and Halow. Now because I have the flexible extensions for the GPS antennas I have removed the protections for those
I made it back home and thought I will give one more chance to the restart procedure. To my surprise Harbor restarted and announced that it’s “ready to work”.
That’s the only good news. Application still doesn’t recognize the machine and also pressing the power button to get the core to bluetooth pairing mode doesn’t help to establish connection through the application. I was standing next to it so I was for sure in the range. Phone also didn’t find any new bluetooth devices near me when I repeatedly did this. Data center still illuminates green.
This physical controller idea was great and simple enough not to think this myself, but unfortunately this controller also didn’t connect.
So I dismantled the core and replaced the wires. I had new Halow and gps wires sent to me by Yarbo when I troubleshooted the last core. I can report that this also didn’t help.
Unfortunately I haven’t heard back from Yarbo. “As quickly as possible“ is not as quick as I was hoping
