Clearing the cutting disk blockages

Of course I have no idea on how Yarbo reacts when the “cutting disc is blocked“, but whenever inspecting the discs, usually I observe that the blockage could be easily (at least temporarily) cleared by spinning the disc other direction (and maybe couple of times one and other direction). So what about some algorithm Yarbo uses to get the cutting disks unstuck?

Maybe additionally some grooves or spiral-patterns above the discs could help them self-clean and avoid grass and leaves bulding above the discs?

I assume that this is more of a safety thing… it has no way of knowing what is stuck in there so continuing to spin the blade could cause more damage (to itself or whatever it is stuck on).

I do believe it currently does try to spin a couple of times before throwing an error. What I wouldn’t mind actually seeing is it drop the blades down a few inches, then raise them and turn them on backwards when it gets to the cutting height. Maybe it does this a few times and then if it clears, resumes cutting.

Hi there, as Bryan mentioned, Yarbo currently does try to spin the cutting discs a few times before showing the error message. We appreciate you sharing these ideas about reversing the spin and adding grooves or patterns to help with self-cleaning. I’ll pass your suggestions along to our team for further review. Thanks for taking the time to think this through and share your feedback!
