Shipping Containers disposal

Well, I’ve had my system since January. I’ve used everything BUT the snowblower, and I’m getting tired of looking at those huge crates sitting on a guest bed in my basement.

  1. Is it smart to burn or otherwise discard the cardboard crates? I’ve no intention to return anything at this point, unless I need a replacement sometime.
  2. Has anyone done anything fun with all that foam packing? It’ll take me a couple months to actually get rid of it in normal bi-weekly trash pick-up. Maybe I can craft some RC Truck ramps or something…

The cardboard should be safe to burn I would think. I’d be careful of any of the staples and plastics.

No idea what to do with the foam either. I’m just going to throw all of mine away. It’s taking up way too much space and since when you get a replacement and ship the broken in the replacement box, there is no reason to keep them.

We cut up the boxes and foam - and have been filling any unused space in our trash cans with cardboard (recycling) or foam (garbage) for weeks now. It’s almost all gone.

It is the most comfortable “I need to get under my truck in the driveway” foam I have ever used, lol.

Gonna have to give it some thought lol. Would rather repurpose it than send to landfill. :thinking::+1:

We cut it all up and filled two trash cans with it to have it hauled off…twice (since we had to have the core replaced). :man_facepalming:

Exactly the parts I kept

Find someone building a boat and give it to them. It’s great and light enough for floatation compartment stuffing.

I recycled the cardboard over about 3 weeks. The recycler comes once per week. Most of the foam I placed in trash can as I could fit it. It took about 2 weeks as the trash pickup is twice per week. I kept a small piece of foam to use when I am working down on my knees. I am 74 and it really helps. Th large piece which packed the core I am keeping for the time being as I makes a good resting piece when I place my mower in my front loader to work on it. I rest the entire front loader on this big, heavy foam box like structure. It makes working on the mower lots easier to have it raised up off the ground.
Good luck

Great! Now I need a front loader to work on Yarbo. Think my wife will buy that?

Why not recycle them and send them back to Yarbo? They will then put new Yarbos out to new customers.

Good idea:grinning_face::heart:

Haha, I don’t think that’s very economical, but if they want it back and want to make it free and simple for me I’d be happy to return all the packing. So far it’s still sleeping peacefully on a guest bed.
