Split/Merge Areas

Thanks. What I didn’t include in the earlier screenshot was that I do have a path to that L shape in the upper right. I highlighted the main area but I have two others that it travels when I send it out. What I don’t understand is why Yarbo won’t use the path to another area to get to the L section of the main area if it knows the NGZs have cut off its normal looping around the house path.

It should take an alternate path, which looks to exist. You do have a couple areas overlayed. That might have something to do with it. I haven’t done that and I’m not entirely sure how they interact.

Oh yeah, the overlayed ones are for the leaf blower module and are labelled in the app that way. It should ignore those when the mower module is attached (I think).

I asked Yarbo about this when the NGZ blocking an area limit was implemented. Even if there is a valid alternative path to the orphaned section of an area, if a NGZ completely cuts off the area it will not take an alternate path to get there. When it generates the path plan, it cannot segment those two areas individually. It’s a current limitation in the path planning. This is when it generates that error that you are getting, because it cannot effectively plan a path to both sides of the same area that the NGZ is completely cutting off (or partially but too small for the core to fit through).

Ok, understandable. I’ll try re-adding the path across the driveway like I drew it above & see if it’ll work this time. I’d much rather use Yarbo vs my Navimow.

I don’t think that will work based on what I’m seeing as you will still have no way for the core to get to each side of the NGZ through the area itself. Basically when it plans the path lines, they all have to connect. It can’t plan independently one side of the area from the other side or connect the two VIA a pathway. If that makes any sense.

Ok yep, welp, saved me a test. Thanks though. Too bad it works that way

Oh, I think I can instead just make two new areas that I’ll remove later. That shouldn’t take too long to walk out & I can remove them after so I’m back to normal once it’s buried.

Yep, that could possibly work.

That was very informative and makes complete sense. Thanks for the extra effort.

You could fully block off a side of the area at a time and run 2 different work plans, turning on and off the sections on either side of the NGZs too…but that might be a lot of rigmarole if you have to do that regularly.

Turns out the same day I was going to work out new areas is the day that AT&T came and buried the wire. I guess the date way in the future was just their way of “under promise, over deliver.” So, I’m back to normal now

One less thing to worry about!

And the new App/FW release that allows to you split and keep both areas is rolling out…ish:grin:. I don’t think there’s a way to merge stuff yet though

Oh, nice. I didn’t check that split & keep both was a thing with this. I’m still waiting for the FW to be pushed to me
