Sudden loss of gps

Quick update.

I’ve been able to confirm that the wifi at my house is operating normally. Still no connection. Im working to find someone who can go reset the DC, which requires them to have access to my house, which is not awesome.

Ill update when I get more info.

Has anyone else tried connecting to theirs from the other side of the world?

Yes, I’ve known people remote controlling it from other countries. Generally should not be an issue.

Add an accessible smart plug to reset the DC. In my opinion this an absolute requirement for remote management.

I was wondering if internet lag could cause issues. Where i am has ‘spotty’ internet service and ive noticed a number of issues since arriving. Such as opening the yarbo app and no yarbos available (sometimes), map drift errors on the one yarbo that does sometimes connect, and obviously the issue of the other yarbo not connecting.
The yarbo that had the ‘sudden gps loss’ now doesnt connect at all.

The list of cores not displaying is typically an internet issue. It has to login to your account to pull that list. So if it can’t talk to Yarbo’s servers, then it will not be successful in pulling that list. I hate this, as it requires internet to open the app. What if you are off grid?

Yes, lag could explain some app load issues. The app gives a lot of false positives when it looses connection or hasn’t fully downloaded parameters from the core.

As for the map drift, that should be a local core issue and shouldn’t be connected to your location in the world with connection to the app. That error is generated core side when there is actual map drift and it’s charging on the dock. If you didn’t see the error, but saw the core not quite in the right location, then it could be the app lag and not fully populating the data yet.

Connection issues is also a mixed bag. That can be so many different things. Usually just needs the hard reset of the core or DC or could be something as simple as trying a different WiFi or cellular network (if only remote). Close proximity, bluetooth should always work.

The unit that will connect is now telling me it has a right mower motor block (pro mower), even though its been sitting on the charging pad for 5 days since it finished its last job. Somethings not right.

Unfortunate timing that this trip and a firmware/app update happened at the same time, makes troubleshooting pretty difficult.

My guess is both DC’s need to be reset.

Arms-length autonomy…

If you didn’t send it out to mow, then could be a false positive. Usually a clear error, restart, clear error will fix that. If it was on schedule and went out, could be a stick or something and the default behavior is to return to the docking station.

Update.

Yarbo #1 (home) - I was able to get someone in to reset the DC. Halow and gps signals are back to normal.
Based on that my conclusion is that the issues were caused by the firmware/app updates. As mentioned in this thread, a smart plug or method to remotely cycle power to the DC is a requirement.
@Yarbo-Forum perhaps yarbo could consider including a smart plug as standard equipment until the DC lock up issue is resolved.

Yarbo 2 (remote) is still giving the right mower motor blocked issue. Im hoping to be able to have a friend check the mower and confirm soon, and reset the DC for good measure.

Well, the struggle continues. Yarbo is now in my neighbour’s yard, no gps signal and cant get camera signal to drive it back remotely.
I think internet lag is playing a big role.

A restart may fix both. It may not actually be in their yard. Could just be random in the map until GPS recovers.

My Yarbo is suddenly unable to hold a GPS signal, seems to coincide with the last update. It’s almost always “medium” even when in direct line of sight of the DC (where it used to be rock solid green), and it can’t run any of my work plans now because it just drives way off the map or into no-go zones.

In trying to debug I see on this troubleshooter it says “Check “Adjust Angle” and “HeadingDop” values on Diagnose page; values ≠ 1 may indicate miscalibration”. Both my values are ≠ 1 as you can see from the attached. Is there a way to recalibrate?

I’ve also restarted both the DC and the core today.

All your values look really good except quality. Try swapping antennas on the core. Right to left and left to right. See if the values change at all.

Yea, I did that eariler. No change. Could it be the antenna on the DC? Not sure what would have changed but looking for anything to try at this point.

Yes is absolutely could be the DC antenna. What does the scatterplot and the cnr numbers look like?

Not great, but they’ve never been great. This is about what I’ve had since day one and while the mower does have to pause often, it’s been fine at completing jobs. Something changed in the last couple of days.

I do have 3 Antenna Pros on pre-order, jfyi. Hoping to get them some day.

Those CNR values and sat count look like the issue. Are you able to get to the DC to swap the antenna with the one from the rover to see the values improve. That will help narrow down if one is flakey.

Recommend the right one from the core. Right as you face the rear of the core.

Yea. Have to drag the ladders out, but I’ll try that tonight or tomorrow and report back.

I’ve gone full circle, back to no gps signal, and no smart vision. Yarbo is either in mine or my neighbors yard, and the battery is draining. I have no way to get it back to the charging station.

Any ideas? I won’t be home for a other 2 weeks.

Smart vision and gps are working on my other yarbo at the other property, the one that is giving the mower moter error.

This is disappointing.
