Sudden loss of gps

These are going to be difficult to diagnose without you having physical access to do some testing.

It’s much easier to dock it with the appp view for charging but the map drift makes this impossible. Some users have set up points of reference to help them manually dock, like in a garage or whatever. YT none of this currently helps you. Sorry, but it’s going to require human intervention.

The saga (gripe) continues…

Yaebo 2 (remote) battery got down to 14% and I still cant get it positioned on the charging pad. So I shut it down, its out of commission until I can get there.

Yarbo 1 (home) was finally out mowing yesterday (theough the night where I am). When I woke up I had about 35 error messages for the right mower motor over heating (it was only about 19C at home yesterday.not hot). I have never seen this error before. Then came the right mower motor blocked error. So, now this unit is out of commission as well.

I won’t bother restating the obvious.

When you decide to check on Y2, take the Y1 battery with you. That way you’re at 100% charge and ready to go. Y2 battery can be charge at home.

Not sure which way is up now. Y1 decided it doesnt have a blocked motor after all, and complete an 8hr mowing schedule. :person_shrugging: Yarbo ownership is an emotional roller coaster ride.:rofl:

Replaced the two antenna on the rover Sat afternoon and it’s been running jobs succesfully since. GPS on the rover is more solid than ever, so I may have had a janky antenna from the start.

Yep. My wife asked why the robot hadn’t been running. I said, “My R2 unit had a bad motivator.” Always wanted to say that… :joy:

Update:

I finally made it out to the remote property, and here’s what I found with Yarbo #2:

The right mower motor stuck issue: yup, there was a stick in there. Fair enough.

The wont recognize being on the charging pad issue: interesting one. The long ground screws holding the charging pad in place had backed out (about an inch) When yarbo was on the charging pad the screws lifted the yarbo body high enough off of the pad that it wouldnt recognize being on the pad.

The mega map drift issue: I did the power down the DC, unplug the battery dance with no improvement; yarb thought it was about 5 meters (15’) away from where it was. I dont know why. Once I got the not recognizing the charging pad issue fixed, i was able to use the fix map drift function and it seems to be resolved.

So, Yarbo #2 is now charging up, it has a full few days of mowing to get things back in shape out here!

Any advice on the charging pad screws, and how I might get them to stay put? If they keep backing out to where yarbo cant charge, thats going to be an annoying problem!

How flat is the ground that the dock is on? It sounds like the dock is moving around a bit when the rover is docking and maneuvering. I would try leveling out the ground, maybe adding some crush run or something that will pack tightly and not settle so much and reinstall the docking station on top. It should help fill in those old screw holes too and help you get a better bite on the reinstall. A maintenance item to keep an eye on when you’re there for sure. What I did for my DC mount was to drill the screws in different directions too. Opposing directions to help give it some more support in different directions. You can sort of do this with the dock, but not as much as the DC allows for.

In my first temporary spot for the dock it was direct on dirt/grass. Had no issues with screws, but I installed in winter and the ground was frozen. By spring I had issues and had to keep putting screws back down. Now I have it mounted directly to concrete pavers in a different area, and no more issues.

Thanks, it looks more like the charging pad has settled into the dirt a bit. I tightened things down, hopefully they’ll hold.
