Trimmer first impressions... a bit disappointing and underwhelming...

I installed the trimmer this weekend and have a few comments.

  1. When the trimmer is installed, even when it’s not running, and just going down a path, it stops constantly “vehicle detected”, “human detected”. I get you want this when it’s trimmer is on… but it’s pretty terrible for just regular mowing or on paths.

  2. The software to select on the map where the trimmer should be on is very bad and difficult to use on a smartphone. especially the erase.

  3. when the trimmer is attached, even when it’s not running, the mower seems to have even worse U-turn strategies… taking 5+ changes in direction…

  4. the distance the trimmer goes out to the side of the mower is also too short… I would have expected it to be at least another 2-3 inch wide.

  5. I have some sections where I want the trimmer to run, but I can’t run the trimmer on the edges of no-go zones?!? this is really weird… I’d want the trimmer to be on when going around trees and bushes - this is a huge gap.

Unfortunately, after the wait, it’s been pretty disappointing.

You can disable “person detection” under safety settings. You can also turn off obstacle avoidance on pathways if it is falsely detecting objects and you are comfortable with bumper only.

You have to set the trim edge on the NGZ settings. Be sure and set the NGZ buffer to zero and enable NGZ edge mowing.

Yes #4 is a huge disapointment.

Hi there, sorry to hear about the disappointment you’re experiencing.

For the first and fifth points, you can refer to Bryan’s suggestions and try making some adjustments to the settings to see if that improves the behavior.

For the second and third points regarding the software usability and turning strategy, I’ve received your feedback and will pass it along to our team for further review and improvement.

Thanks again for sharing such detailed feedback—it’s very helpful for us.
