Unmowed rows of 4” or so

I got my 3rd replacement mower module and while it seems to be working better (minus occasional cutting height motor issue we are working on) it leaves a row of about 4” unmowed along each pass. I do have overlap set to zero (trying to mow 3.5 acres of open lawn without it taking 3 days to do it all).

The original and the first replacement mower did not leave it like this, any idea? I could mess with overlap but it take long enough already and I was happy with the no overlap outcome.
Here is a picture but it’s hard to see.

Are you on a hill and were you mowing in the other direction (up and down the hill vs left to righ across) before when you had no gaps?

It’s generally recommended to do at least a 4 inch overlap and a 8 inch overlap on slopes if the 4 inch isn’t sufficient. GPS fluctuations can leave uncut patches with zero overlap. Generally recommended to cut at a 90 degree angle to catch any missed or knocked down grass.

It happened the whole cutting, flat ground included. It used to only do it on the slopes and never on the flat ground.

I wonder how much time that would add. Between having to clear errors without being notified by push notifications, it usually take 3 full days for me to get a cut in.

In this case, we recommend increasing the overlap setting, although we understand this may lengthen the mowing time—which you’re hoping to avoid.

If you’d like to keep the overlap at zero, you might try adjusting the route rotation angle slightly. This can help cover areas that were missed during the previous pass by changing the cutting direction.

Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions—we’re happy to help!
