Use standard Wifi 2.4/5.0 instead?

Good day,

it seems, the DataCenter has in some areas of my 2ha Farm some problems.

However, I maintain a Full-Coverage 2.4/5.0 Wifi Network in my 2ha Apple Farm, 1,8ha Greenland and 2ha Forest. There is not a single blind spot.

If there a possibility, that the DataCenter and the Yarbo can use this Network instead?

You can put Yarbo on your wifi. The setting is under the Diagnose Tools menu.

With that said, there are multiple reports of bad things happening when you do that. Yarbo seems to lose GPS (at least indicated as no GPS) more often when the device is switching networks.

The current advice is to not connect it to WiFi.

I would not recommend using WiFi. The DC has to be hard wired Ethernet into your router. It can use a WiFi extender as long as the signal is good though. Make sure your DC is as high as possible on your property and it will help get better HaLow signal to the rover. Enable cellular on the rover for instances where HaLow signal may be poor due to hills or something else. Cellular is free for 2GB a month and fails over smoothly.

As Ken mentioned, WiFi can cause problems in the core. It can be used, but if it goes in and out frequently it can cause you problems. Best to stick with HaLow and cellular unless HaLow is problematic.

I have currently 4 high-performance Wifi Repeater 2,4/5,0MHz with a range of more than 100m each, but even if I Switch-Off my AP (2,4/5,0MHz with a range of 600m) the DC refuse to work with the Repeater.

Currently I reactivated my AP and all 4 repeater connect and provide super strong signals over aa area of 1000x350m. :innocent:

Since I got today morning a “Power Board Issue) and the GPS is again gone, I do not know, whst to do, because the Weeds ar now higher then me and I have to trimm it manually down, that MrYarbo can do the last 30-40cm…

However, MrYarbo has stopped working and I wait for Yarbo to respond to my ticket.

On Wednesday I get an excavator to dig 400m waterpipes and cables onto the ground but without trimming and mowing this task is impossible.

I assume your data center up on the roof has wired internet connected to it. You need to turn off the wifi on the Yarbo unit for it not to intervene the other signals. Its well reported and also I believe formal recommendation by Yarbo that turned on wifi on the core unit is not recommended and should be turned off. Data center HaLow I think is transmitting on 915mhz or something close to this. The 2,4 or 5ghz will never have as good of a coverage as low hz can provide by the DC HaLow signal.

By the measurements you have provided from your property size the DC will provide good HaLow signal for your Yarbo many times that size and distance you wrote. Definitely no need to use Wi-Fi extenders.

I do live in Estonia and periodically see the Orcs messing with the GPS signal. I think Yarbo is not only relying it’s positioning to GPS… I could be wrong here. Anyway it sometimes stops most likely because of the Orcs playing around with their toys to the east from us but I haven’t noticed anymore then couple of minutes stoppage in the center of the field for example and then Yarbo resumes mowing by itself again.

By the other post you have made here on the forum it looks like you will have in the nearby future a replacement core sent to you by Yarbo. It took them 5+ weeks last time. From me reporting the GPS problem for the first time and receiving the new replacement core. Good luck!

Just want to confirm you aren’t hot swapping the modules. That can trigger the power board warning. Reboot if so and it should clear.

No, I have no need to hot-swap anything, because MrYarbo has only to mow my 2ha farm while I am stressed with other things
