When using NetRTK and it has a full Wifi signal, why is it constantly stopping and waiting, sometimes for are quite awhile, with this error “Waiting for GPS signal to recover.” ?
What does your diagnostics look like when it’s waiting? RTK, status, Data Center, and Halow sections.
Why would it need any of that on NetRTK? Doesn’t it get GPS from the network?
The rover still gets its GPS from the antennas on the core. It uses the network (internet) to communicate with a base station for the triangulation reference point (correction data).
I understood with NetRTK, I could take it to neighbors, with no base station and be able to run if it had a network connection.
This is still true. Depending on how far it is, is also true of the DC positioning service as well. NetRTK has a little more distance. Roughly 12 miles vs the DC 6-7. The DC just communicates to the core over the internet, so as long as both have internet, it works just like NetRTK does.
OK, it must be trees interfering with the rovers antennas.
Potentially. Do you have the Pro RTK antennas? Do you have good signal elsewhere and otherwise no issues?
Yes I do and good signal everywhere normally, no issues. If i don’t move it, it will rocover on it’s own but it can take quite awhile.
I got one on a pathway today, never happened there before. I waited a bit, and then just paused the plan, and then immediately hit resume and it took right off.
you can increase your PPVS settings a little bit (in area) and see if it can help it get through it a little quicker. Keep in mind that the number of feet you set here is how far it can “guesstimate” without GPS. So keep it conservative in higher risk areas.
Solar flares.
I have found, sometimes, if I reload my app, it disappears and it was actually continuing like it wasn’t there. Sometimes not.
I’m in the approach pattern of a reginal airport, so it could be planes, but there were none
I am going to go with Yarbo being Yarbo ![]()
Hi there! As Bryan mentioned, this error isn’t related to the Wi-Fi signal. It’s more likely tied to the GPS signal the rover is receiving.
You can try increasing the PPVS settings slightly to see if that helps Yarbo get through those areas more smoothly when the GPS signal drops temporarily.
