Leaves???
Are you using moderate bypass? Are the cameras clean if so?
Gentle contact…..
Yeah that area has moderate bypass on. I did try briefly brushing off the ultrasonic sensors and cameras but maybe I’ll drag out the glass cleaner and microfiber rag ![]()
@Yarbo-Forum What’s the recommended way to clean the cameras, etc? Spit on a paper towel?
LOL. I just wipe them off with my hand.
@rcguymike If you recall, were the front lights on or off? This might also be worth a ticket.
They seem to always be on…they’ll randomly turn off for a few seconds mid mow but are often on even in the middle of the day.
Always on is correct. There was a bug where obstacle avoidance would detect stuff when the lights were briefly off in lower light conditions and pin itself in like that. Not sure if this was the case or not, but possible. Seemed overcast so it probably wasn’t sun spotting.
hello,
Just like Ken mentioned, this could be because the obstacle detection in Moderate mode is more sensitive — you can try switching to Gentle mode to see if it helps.
It’s also a good idea to check if the camera lens has any dirt or smudges on it.
In some cases, this might be a misrecognition, and our team is continuously improving the obstacle detection performance to make it more accurate.
We recommend gently wiping the camera lens with a clean microfiber cloth if needed. For more details, you can check here: Camera Lens Protective Film
Moderate just seems more…graceful…than gentle contact…when it works that is. I have a few areas where I trimmed some low hanging branches and where our hammocks are set up where it mows underneath just fine on Gentle Contact but struggles/bobs/weaves on moderate. It beautifully went around some sand toys the kids left in the yard the other day too:
I might have to request areas you can “paint” to change the obstacle avoidance mode:sweat_smile:![]()
Almost to the end of mowing season though so maybe I’ll wait to see how performance is next spring:grin: Gently contact, although less “graceful” does seem to work the best for now…It just won’t work for cars, etc where the bumper won’t hit it but the rest of the body of the mower/core will
I think I remember removing film off the cameras…but maybe not the ultrasonics…I’ll double check
There shouldn’t be any on the sensors. But worth checking.
