I always have the mower module connected and want to do a single pass through an area where geese ruin my yard to scare them away. Is there a way to set that up? It would be in one of my zones so I would love to set up a route or even just do a single perimeter pass, is this possible?
I believe there is a patrol mode setting while using the SAM module
No current automatic way even with the SAM and patrol mode unless you just do it on a schedule. Ideally they would bring patrol mode and all other SAM functions to all modules. You could get creative with the Home Assistant integration and if you had a way to identify when the geese were there, you could have it trigger a mower work plan and then cancel it after a certain percentage.
What if you set a dummy work area with a pathway to get to from.
As long as the pathway is not inside a mapped area, otherwise it can deviate and just plot a route through the area(s) instead. Even if that pathway is the only way to get to the dummy area, it may still enter that pathway at any point inside a mapped area to get there.
He can make a plan of dead-ends, I think, and it’ll visit them in the order he specifies. Those will work in an area, or not.
I have a pond (about 3/4 acre) and the geese love it…but I don’t love them. They’re vicious when protecting a nest and they crap all over. Their crap can carry parasites that infect your fish.
I’ve had excellent success with a green laser. Attaching screenshots from the company’s website I purchased from. I don’t recall the science behind it, but something about that color appears brightest to them and they see the laser as a solid object vs. a light beam like we see it. I step out the back door and can scare them away from a fair distance away. It’s not hurting them so you’re not breaking any laws. Airports and other agricultural industries use green lasers for goose control. The downside is that they’re pricey, but I would buy it again in a heartbeat. They have different power levels depending on the effective distance you need. Keep in mind that distance goes down on a bright day. I got the 1000MW, but might go with the 1500MW if purchasing a new one. I hope this helps.
If you wired it to a remote switch for turning the laser on/off, you could mount it to the top of your core and scare away the geese while controlling it remotely using the cameras. Talk about a unique use case for a Yarbo. lol
