The Yarbo mower discs with little razor blades are worthless.
Do not sell them. Do not buy them. Yarbo needs to sell all mowers with the steel straight blades. Period.
I used the discs all summer. I had to change the little blades every week or else it just would not cut. It makes the yard look pretty for a day or so with nice lines, but the grass was hardly cut and just flattened.
I found a guy on Etsy who sells adapters for the straight blades to attach to the mower 1 module. They fit perfectly. I attached the steel blades and they cut perfectly. My fine fescue had grown to over 4 inches in chicago. I have 2 acres of yard to mow. Now it looks like it should.
I am strongly recommending everyone to ditch the stupid razor disks and buy the adapters from the Etsy guy and the blades from Yarbo
To yarbo: stop selling the dumb disks. Sell a mower with mower blades and make everyone happy. Don’t make people buy a second module to get the thing that should have come with the mower in the first place.
What cutting height were you running with the razor blades? And how frequently were you cutting?

I cut to 3.5 inches. I cut each section of the yard once a week.
The height doesn’t matter. It’s the razor blades. They aren’t designed for large areas. I had to change blades every week. It was ridiculous.
now it just works like it should.
Seriously - don’t sell the razor blade discs. Even if I had a small yard the blades would have to be changed every other week at a minimum.
The module 1 mower runs just fine with the straight blades. If the blades spun faster and generated more lift the clipping would be mulched better. But aside from that, the straight blade adapters and blades work perfectly.
Please do all your customers a favor and ditch the razor blade set up. It’s useless.

Depending on how fast your grass is growing, cutting 1x per week with the razor blades is not ideal. Especially when setting the cut at a long 3.5 inches. Your experience would have been much better by cutting shorter, and cutting more often.
Basically, two things were happening which combined to cause you a less than ideal experience:
1). A 1x per week schedule allows a lot of time for growth between cuts. Generally speaking, cutting every 2-3 days is recommended. Razors are intended to just cut a small amount off the top of the grass stalk each time.
2). Since the grass is starting out at 3.5 inches, after a week it’s likely 4 inches or more. The grass is now at a point where some of it will just get pushed down (flattened) instead of being cut. Razor blades don’t have lift to raise the flattened grass.
You are correct in that razor blade mowers behave differently than straight blade mowers. For razor mowers, it’s important to cut often and not let the grass get too long. It’s not that razors don’t work, they just don’t behave like a standard lawn mower. Different tool, different operating parameters.
The razors also last a lot longer than the straight blade edge. But if you cut infrequently and with wet grass, they will get pretty gummed up and quickly. Cut at least twice a week, they generally won’t. The deck design of both mower modules also doesn’t do well with cutting grass that is above 3.5 inches. The M1 especially has to be at 3 inches or lower with cool season grasses like Tall Fescue. Like you said, just looks pushed over. You also have to vary the angle of the cut at least 45, but I find 90 degrees gets the best look. With either mower module, you still have to send it again to get some strays. Rotating the cut at a 90 really helps get all that missed stragglers that got pushed over as well as make nice stripes. I had to do the same with my zero turn cutting at 4 inches. There was always something missed, so cutting it again was required. The difference with the robot is now it’s not me that’s cutting it.
And they did discontinue the M1 so now the Mower Pro is the only option and it comes with straight blades. But I know many people who swear the razors give a better cut to the actual blade of grass. I am inclined to agree.
I do not know, what kind of grass you have, but I mow since May 4065m2 with the same blades every week… WITH THE SAME BLADES.
Oh, I forgot to mention, that the 4065m3 are only 1/4 of the areas I have to setup.
