My Yarbo won’t boot. The last time I connected was less than an hour ago and it had just started charging after mowing for a few hours. It was at 23% battery.
Now the docking station shows blue like there’s nothing on it. I disconnected the battery and reconnected, nothing. Held down power for 30+ seconds. Nothing. No lights, no sounds, nothing. Have you guys seen anything like this? Any suggestions? Can’t get through to support… ugh.
Plug in the wired charger and let it charge for an hour or two, then try turning it on. You may have to hold the power button for 60 seconds for it to stay on (if it turns off when you let go). Once booted, disconnect wired charger and start charging wirelessly. Let it charge up to 100% and then unplug the battery for 4 hours so the BMS can recalibrate. I bet you’ll find that after power up afterwards, you will see it’s not actually at 100%
I don’t think support even reads the text of the cases.
I told them my Yarbo was unresponsive and described what I had already tried and they reply with this:
“Dear Customer,
Thank you for reaching out regarding the Thank you for reaching out regarding the issue with your Yarbo device. To assist you further, please provide your serial number (SN). Additionally, ensure your Yarbo is fully charged and placed in an area with a strong Wi-Fi signal, so our team can attempt a remote firmware update. Kindly also share your order number and shipping address for our records.
Once we have this information, we will proceed with the next steps to resolve your issue.
Best regards,
Yarbo Support”
The serial number was already on the case. How am I supposed to know when the battery is charged if the Yarbo won’t tell me? And how do they plan on connecting to it if it’s unresponsive?
I know some people complain about AI support, but I promise AI support would have had my SN, order #, address, and not responded with something more reasonable than what I was just sent. sigh@Yarbo-Forum
1 hour on the corded charger seemed to do the trick. What I don’t understand is how it went from 23% to so dead my Yarbo won’t power on. It’s at 11% charge now.
In another forum post, someone described Yarbo ownership as an emotional roller coaster and I think that sums it up pretty well. I really need to get my HA running again so I can monitor this thing more closely.
We’ll see if support can remote in and tell me anything.
Hi there, I’ve checked your support ticket in our system.
The first reply you received was the automated AI response, which is mainly used to collect the basic information needed for our team to review your case. Our support team will take over your ticket soon and continue investigating the issue in more detail.
In the meantime, you can try the battery reset method by disconnecting the battery from Yarbo and leaving it disconnected for around 4 hours. This may help reset the battery management system (BMS) and resolve situations where the battery status is not accurately detected.
I’ll also keep an eye on your case and follow up to make sure it is being handled properly. Thank you for your patience, and we’ll work to get this resolved as soon as possible.
I had to do it once in May, and now I need to do it again, as I saw yesterday it went from 85 to 100 percent in a few minutes, even with it being hot out.
Same thing happened to me at least 4 times in the past couple of months. Charging the battery using the wired charger for > 30 min was the only way to bring it back. On all those occasions, the battery had at least 20% charge. As @bryan.wheeler suggested, the calibration will resolve this issue.
As expected, after the 4 hour disconnect, it did not return to 100%. I didn’t immediately check after plugging it in, but a half hour later it was at 88%.It was likely around 75%. So it looks like I’m nearly out of the woods on this one, but still hope to hear what support has to say. Thanks for your assistance.
I really wish support was more honest and forthcoming with information on why we have to keep doing this. This is NOT how a product is suppose to work!
I’m learning that my mower module is likely going to require replacement as the blade height motors don’t seem to function anymore. I found multiple threads on this issue as well as the wiki article. Those who shared case resolution indicated they were getting mower replacements. I sent my Yarbo out to mow this morning and it just got stuck on “Yarbo is adjusting blades.” with status code 16 “WaitingForBladesArrive” They were operating just fine yesterday, then this issue and now the mower is having this issue. Seems more than a bit coincidental. I got the latest firmware today and this didn’t help. FWIW, this mower module has less than 2 weeks of use on it…they just replaced it.
