How to Configure Area Settings for a Healthier, Fully-Covered Lawn
Want to protect your grass and make sure no patch gets left behind? Here’s how to dial in your Area Settings for both safety and precision:
- Start with Smart Turn (Default)
Smart Turn minimizes turf damage and is best for irregular or narrow spaces. It’s gentle on your lawn—especially ideal for softer or damp grass.
- Adjust the Overlap Thoughtfully
-
For thick, tall, or uneven grass → choose 4–8 inches of overlap.
-
For short or sparse grass → 0–4 inches is enough.
This ensures clean passes without stressing the lawn—or missing any strips!
- Use Route Rotation Degree to Vary Mowing Paths
Switch angles betwee sessions (e.g., 0°, 45°, 90°) to avoid soil compaction and mowing ruts. Your grass will grow straighter and look fuller.
Note : Only available with Parallel route pattern—Checkerboard and Diamond rotate by default; Spiral doesn’t rotate.
- Let Route Order Work for You
Starting with the Perimeter First helps Yarbo outline the space before diving in. Great for lawns with detailed edges!
- Customize for Coverage
Every lawn is unique—don’t hesitate to try small tweaks in one area first, then apply them across zones. You’ll quickly find what delivers the smoothest, healthiest result.
