Understand The Science Behind Mowing

With turf bursting into action this spring, you might feel the urge to trim your lawn back fast. But here’s a green reminder: cutting too much, too soon can do more harm than good. Stick to the trusted 1/3 Rule—never remove more than one-third of your grass’s height in one mowing—to keep your lawn lush, healthy, and stress-free all season long.

Mow Smarter with Yarbo’s Target Height Feature

Want a thriving, stress-free lawn? Yarbo’s Target Height is here to help!

This smart feature gradually lowers your mowing height over five sessions-giving your grass time to adjust and recover between trims. E.g, set your target at 3 inches, and Yarbo will start from 4 inches, trimming just 0.2 inches at a time until your lawn hits the ideal height. :white_check_mark:

:warning: Heads up! If you manually change the mowing height during the process, the system will turn off Target Height automatically.

How Can You Get Cleaner Lawn Edges with Yarbo?

Want sharper, more polished lawn edges? Now you can fine-tune Yarbo’s mowing precision with the Perimeter Mowing Laps feature!

:small_blue_diamond: What It Does: Set how many times Yarbo circles your lawn’s edge before starting the main mowing work — ensuring no spots are missed!

:small_blue_diamond: How to Set It Up:

  • Open the Yarbo App → Go to Area Settings → Tap the Tool icon → Expand Advanced Settings → Find Perimeter Mowing Laps.

  • Default is 2 laps — you can customize to 3 or 4 for even more thorough edging.

:small_blue_diamond: Good to Know:

  • Available only when using the Zigzag mowing pattern.

  • Only applies to work area boundaries, not no-go zones.

Introducing Two Types of Cutting Blades, Each With Its Own Capabilities

Ever wondered why your Yarbo Mower comes with two different sets of blades? Let’s break it down so you can pick the perfect fit for your lawn:

:small_blue_diamond: Silver Blades (Pre-installed)

  • High-strength, rust-resistant, and super flexible.

  • Perfect for humid, rainy areas or storage during the off-season.

  • Stays sharp and shiny even after long storage!

:small_blue_diamond: Gold Blades (Packed Separately)

  • Titanium-coated for extreme durability and toughness.

  • Best for rugged lawns, thick grass, and dry conditions.

  • Less rust-proof than silver, but unmatched in cutting power.

Why We’re Providing Both

Because mowing conditions vary, we want to empower you to choose the blade that works best for your yard:

  • Choose silver blades if you prioritize rust resistance or live in a wet climate.

  • Choose gold blades if your lawn has thicker grass, uneven ground, or small debris that requires extra cutting strength.

How to Configure Area Settings for a Healthier, Fully-Covered Lawn

Want to protect your grass and make sure no patch gets left behind? Here’s how to dial in your Area Settings for both safety and precision:

  1. Start with Smart Turn (Default)

Smart Turn minimizes turf damage and is best for irregular or narrow spaces. It’s gentle on your lawn—especially ideal for softer or damp grass.

  1. Adjust the Overlap Thoughtfully
  • For thick, tall, or uneven grass → choose 4–8 inches of overlap.

  • For short or sparse grass → 0–4 inches is enough.

This ensures clean passes without stressing the lawn—or missing any strips!

  1. Use Route Rotation Degree to Vary Mowing Paths

Switch angles betwee sessions (e.g., 0°, 45°, 90°) to avoid soil compaction and mowing ruts. Your grass will grow straighter and look fuller.

Note : Only available with Parallel route pattern—Checkerboard and Diamond rotate by default; Spiral doesn’t rotate.

  1. Let Route Order Work for You

Starting with the Perimeter First helps Yarbo outline the space before diving in. Great for lawns with detailed edges!

  1. Customize for Coverage

Every lawn is unique—don’t hesitate to try small tweaks in one area first, then apply them across zones. You’ll quickly find what delivers the smoothest, healthiest result.

What’s Boundary Set Back & Why It Matters?

Ever notice Yarbo swinging wide on tight turns? That’s where Boundary Set Back comes in!

Think of it as Yarbo’s personal buffer zone—keeping it a safe distance from lawn edges, flower beds, or garden gnomes :eyes:.

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: How It Works:

  • Default = 0 cm - Yarbo follows the boundary exactly.

  • Add a few inches - Shrinks the work zone just enough to avoid crossing the edge.

If your lawn has tight edges or nearby obstacles, increasing the Set Back can make Yarbo’s turns smoother and smarter!

Area Settings: Route Angle – Customize Your Mowing Direction

After drawing an area, Yarbo automatically generates a mowing route based on its algorithm. Not happy with the direction? Want the route to run parallel to a river instead of perpendicular? You can now fine-tune the Route Angle to suit your layout!

:wrench: How to Adjust Route Angle:

  1. Tap “Enter My Yard”, then select “Edit Map”

  2. Tap “Area” to open your area list, then tap the settings icon next to the area you want to adjust

Advanced Area Settings for Yarbo Lawn Mower

In the Advanced Settings section of the Area Settings page, you can explore additional options to customize your Yarbo Lawn Mower for your specific needs.

Module Clearance Adjustment

Adjusting the module clearance changes the distance between the mower module and the main body, allowing it to adapt to different lawn conditions.

There are three clearance levels available:

  • Low (Default): Provides the most precise mowing performance.

  • Medium: A balanced setting for effective mowing with improved resistance to clogging.

  • High: Ideal for uneven terrain, thick grass, or less-maintained areas such as hillsides, rocky patches, or wild zones. Helps reduce clogging. Note: Selecting “High” may slightly affect mowing height precision.

Boundary Setback & Exterior Area Expand

These advanced area settings help you fine-tune your mowing boundaries.

  • Boundary Setback: Adjusts the entire mapped area inward by a selected value to avoid tight edges or obstacles. Available range: 0 to 16 inches, in 4-inch increments.

  • Exterior Area Expand: Expands the mapped area outward, customizes how far Yarbo can extend beyond the boundaries. Available range: 0 to 3.3 feet.

FAQ

1. How do I manually reorder the mowing sequence of different areas in a work plan?

  • Go to the Plan List to find the work plan you want to edit (navigate via “Enter My Yard” → “Start” → “Plan List”).

  • Tap the “···” icon next to the desired plan and select “Edit Plan”.

  • Press and hold the ☰ icon next to an area to drag and reorder the mowing sequence within the plan.

  1. How to Unlink Your Yarbo Device?
  • Go to the main page and tap the settings icon in the top-right corner.

  • Tap “Unlink” to disconnect your Yarbo device from your account.

:wrench: Quick Reminder

1. Turn Off Before Maintenance
If you’re planning to perform any maintenance work, make sure to power off your Yarbo before proceeding with any further steps.

2. :eyes: Check Before You Mow
Before mowing, take a quick walk around your yard to check for anything that shouldn’t be there—like hidden animal nests, forgotten toys, or garden tools. A simple scan helps keep both your mower and your lawn safe.

1. Explore the Work Preference Page of Your Yarbo Lawn Mower

Undock Battery Level & Recharge Battery Level

When following a work plan, Yarbo will begin mowing once the battery reaches the Undock Battery Level, and return to charge when it drops to the Recharge Battery Level.

To give you more flexibility and efficiency, both settings can be customized to suit your needs and mowing schedule.

  • Undock Battery Level: 50% – 80% (Default: 80%)

  • Recharge Battery Level: 15% – 30% (Default: 20%)

Adjust these thresholds to optimize your Yarbo’s performance and get the most out of each charge.

2. Yarbo Tips:
For snow blower owners: If your Yarbo Core has been sitting idle during mowing season, don’t forget to give the battery a little attention. Charge the battery pack for at least 15 minutes every 3 months. Leaving it unused for too long can lead to reduced performance and faster degradation.

Think of it as an off-season warm-up—your Yarbo deserves a little TLC, even when it’s not in action!:battery:

3. FAQ
Can I leave the Yarbo lawn mower on the docking station all the time? Will it overcharge?

To maintain battery health and ensure a smooth experience with your Yarbo, we recommend keeping the lawn mower on the docking station and fully charged during the mowing season.

No need to worry—Yarbo’s Battery Management System (BMS) includes protections against overcharging, overheating, short circuits, and overcurrent. These safeguards help preserve your battery’s long-term health.

  2. FAQ:

A. How to Restart Yarbo?

To restart your Yarbo, simply follow this path: Yarbo SettingsSafety SettingsRestart Yarbo System. It’s quick and easy!

B. Why Is My Yarbo Using a Zero Turn Even Though I Set It to U-Turn?

Yarbo automatically switches to zero-turn when the turning angle falls outside the range of 70° to 110°. This helps ensure full grass coverage and reduces the chance of leaving uncut patches behind.

So even if you’ve selected U-Turn in the settings, Yarbo may perform a zero-turn when tighter or sharper turns are required for optimal mowing results.

  1. What if Yarbo loses or has a weak GPS signal?

Yarbo may experience GPS loss or weak signal due to several possible reasons. Here are some common causes:

  • No HaLow or 4G connection

  • Satellite signal obstruction (e.g., trees, buildings)

  • Loose or damaged cables

  • Data center problems

  • Core hardware or calibration issues

  • Software or firmware version mismatch

Note: If your Yarbo consistently loses GPS while on the docking station, please check for any nearby obstructions. Try relocating the docking station to a more open area to ensure better satellite visibility and smoother operation.

  1. What to Do About Map Drift?

Map Drift happens when the rover and Data Center map coordinates get out of synch.

    How to Correct Map Drift

    1. Place the Rover on the Docking Station and ensure it is properly aligned and charging.

    2. Open the Yarbo App and connect to your Rover.

    3. Go to Enter My YardEdit Map.

    4. Tap the three dots in the upper-right corner to view additional options.

    5. Select Correct Map Drift to begin the correction process.

IMPORTANT: Do not use the “Correct Map Drift” function right away. Triggering it unnecessarily will re-center your map incorrectly and may require a full re-mapping. Only use this feature when you’re certain that a Map Drift has actually occurred.

Before proceeding, run a few checks to confirm whether it’s a genuine Map Drift issue.

  1. Adjusting the Moving Speed of Yarbo

The speed at which Yarbo moves can significantly affect its mowing results. If you prioritize efficiency, you may want to increase the moving speed. On the other hand, if mowing performance and cut quality are more important to you, slowing down the speed could yield better results.

To Adjust the Moving Speed:

  1. Open the Yarbo app and go to the main page.

  2. Tap the settings icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Select “Work Preferences” where you can adjust the moving speed.

Note: When Yarbo detects a slope, it will automatically adjust its speed to ensure optimal mowing performance. The steeper the slope, the slower the speed.

  1. How to Connect to the Yarbo Speaker

    1. Hold the Power Button on your Yarbo for 3-4 seconds. When the rear lights flash blue, the device enters Bluetooth pairing mode.

2.2 Open the Bluetooth settings on your phone and scan for Yarbo Music in the available devices.

2.3 Once you see the pairing request, tap “Pair” to complete the connection

  1. Maintaining the Docking Station

    • Keep It Clean Remove any debris, snow, or leaves that may accumulate around the Docking Station. This helps Yarbo dock accurately without hindrance.

    • Check the Position Periodically inspect the Docking Station to ensure it hasn’t shifted from its original placement. Re-level the station if necessary.

    • Secure the Connections Inspect the power connections regularly to make sure they’re secure and functioning properly. A loose connection could prevent Yarbo from charging effectively.

Consistent maintenance ensures your Yarbo stays ready for action!
