With turf bursting into action this spring, you might feel the urge to trim your lawn back fast. But here’s a green reminder: cutting too much, too soon can do more harm than good. Stick to the trusted 1/3 Rule—never remove more than one-third of your grass’s height in one mowing—to keep your lawn lush, healthy, and stress-free all season long.
Want a thriving, stress-free lawn? Yarbo’s Target Height is here to help!
This smart feature gradually lowers your mowing height over five sessions-giving your grass time to adjust and recover between trims. E.g, set your target at 3 inches, and Yarbo will start from 4 inches, trimming just 0.2 inches at a time until your lawn hits the ideal height.
Heads up! If you manually change the mowing height during the process, the system will turn off Target Height automatically.
Starting with the Perimeter First helps Yarbo outline the space before diving in. Great for lawns with detailed edges!
Customize for Coverage
Every lawn is unique—don’t hesitate to try small tweaks in one area first, then apply them across zones. You’ll quickly find what delivers the smoothest, healthiest result.
Make your mowing routine more efficient with Smart Sorting!
What is Smart Sorting? When enabled, Yarbo will start mowing from the closest area and move outward, rather than following the default area order.
How to Enable or Disable It:
Go to the Work Plan page
Go to the Plan List, select the plan you want to modify, and tap the settings icon.
Select Edit Plan and toggle Smart Sorting
What if It’s Turned Off? Yarbo will mow areas in the order they appear in your plan—regardless of distance.
Area Settings: Route Angle – Customize Your Mowing Direction
After drawing an area, Yarbo automatically generates a mowing route based on its algorithm. Not happy with the direction? Want the route to run parallel to a river instead of perpendicular? You can now fine-tune the Route Angle to suit your layout!
How to Adjust Route Angle:
Tap “Enter My Yard”, then select “Edit Map”
Tap “Area” to open your area list, then tap the settings icon next to the area you want to adjust
In Advanced Settings, you’ll find the Route Angle option — adjustable from 10° to 170° in 10° increments
Note: Route angle adjustment is only available when using the Parallel Route Pattern.
In the Advanced Settings section of the Area Settings page, you can explore additional options to customize your Yarbo Lawn Mower for your specific needs.
Module Clearance Adjustment
Adjusting the module clearance changes the distance between the mower module and the main body, allowing it to adapt to different lawn conditions.
Low (Default): Provides the most precise mowing performance.
Medium: A balanced setting for effective mowing with improved resistance to clogging.
High: Ideal for uneven terrain, thick grass, or less-maintained areas such as hillsides, rocky patches, or wild zones. Helps reduce clogging. Note: Selecting “High” may slightly affect mowing height precision.
Boundary Setback & Exterior Area Expand
These advanced area settings help you fine-tune your mowing boundaries.
Boundary Setback: Adjusts the entire mapped area inward by a selected value to avoid tight edges or obstacles. Available range: 0 to 16 inches, in 4-inch increments.
Exterior Area Expand: Expands the mapped area outward, ideal for reclaiming overgrown edges. Available range: 0 to 3.3 feet.
FAQ
1. How do I manually reorder the mowing sequence of different areas in a work plan?
Go to the Plan List to find the work plan you want to edit (navigate via “Enter My Yard” → “Start” → “Plan List”).
Tap the “···” icon next to the desired plan and select “Edit Plan”.
Press and hold the ☰ icon next to an area to drag and reorder the mowing sequence within the plan.
1. Turn Off Before Maintenance
If you’re planning to perform any maintenance work, make sure to power off your Yarbo before proceeding with any further steps.
2. Check Before You Mow
Before mowing, take a quick walk around your yard to check for anything that shouldn’t be there—like hidden animal nests, forgotten toys, or garden tools. A simple scan helps keep both your mower and your lawn safe.
Why are these 2 different settings? Why not just one slider that either expands or contracts the boundary? What happens if I move the Boundary Set Back in 12 inches, but then set the Exterior Are Expand to 1 foot? Will they negate each other?
