Hi there, thank you for sharing your idea — we completely understand why this would be useful in your situation. However, at the moment we do not have plans to develop this feature. That said, if more users show interest in this function, we will definitely revisit the request and evaluate it again.
For the electrical engineer hacks out there. Could a pressure switch or motion switch activate a Bluetooth sender activating Bluetooth receiver to turn on a rotary beacon or a disco ball?
I see where you’re going. A pressure plate on the dock so when the rover is off dock it sends a signal to activate the strobe. Could probably trigger that with Home assistant.
Might even be able to do this Home Assistant via a smart plug on the dock that watches power usage. The dock continues to draw a small amount when the rover is docked and drops to it’s lowest level when undocked.
