Ability to move forward after collision.

I posted about this here Collision recovery issue - can only move backwards

I have had the Yarbo get stuck on more than one occasion while backing up in a dead end. It hits the corner of my porch, 50% of the time, and once it got stuck against the tire of my truck while backing up in a mapped area; in this case it got wedged under the truck. In both cases I get a collision notification but when I took manual control the only option was to backup which isn’t possible. I ended up going over and physically had to lift and drag the unit to get clearance. There should be a way to override the default behavior and allow any sort of motion while under manual control after a collision is detected.

I will fix the porch issue by adjusting the path but that doesn’t address the core issue which is we should be able to override this ‘safety’ feature and have full control of the unit.

I agree with this. I would love to see a no bumper zone. I have a slope that I am confident Yarbo could tackle but I fear it will slide down some and trigger the bumper which would completely stop all forward motion and put it in a predicament that I am confident won’t be fun to pull it out of (it’s super heavy). If there was some sort of manual override or even a no bumper zone I could manually mow this area and not have to use my zero turn at all. If it did it well enough, I might even let it do it autonomously (supervised). It’s about 100% slope in spots, so this isn’t to spec, but the machine is very capable and I believe it could do it.

Thank you for sharing your experience — I completely understand the need for more flexibility in situations like this. I’ve passed your feedback along to our product team for review.

That said, we do need to carefully balance user control with safety features, especially when it comes to collision handling. Your suggestion highlights an important edge case, and it’s something that will require thoughtful consideration as we continue improving the system.

We truly appreciate your input!
