Notice when the snowblower has a collision it just sorta “gives up” until you take control. However, the person detection seems to always know theres someone within 15 feet (sometimes annoying so). It would be nice if yarbo would attempt to fix itself after a collision by using the person detection to look to see if theres space behind it to back up, without always needing a human touch. I understand there are probably safety needs here, but the ONE time I don’t want to be out baby sitting yarbo is when it’s cold and snowy.
Hi there,
Could you please share a bit more information about the collision behavior you’re seeing with your snowblower? Based on our current obstacle avoidance logic, it should normally attempt some obstacle-bypass actions before stopping completely.
Your details will help us better understand what might be happening.
What I saw in my recent runs was yarbo would bump my retaining wall when getting to the edge of its area. It would then notify me of the collision that occurred but it would not attempt to move or “reset” itself unless I took control with the remote.
The lawn mower would attempt to work around an obstacle it bumped into.
It should at least try to backup and reorient on its own
Hi there, I’ve confirmed with our team that at the moment, obstacle avoidance is only enabled for vehicles. Sorry for the earlier misunderstanding — currently, if Yarbo collides with a wall, it will stop but won’t attempt to reposition itself. I’ll make sure to share your feedback with our team for future improvements.
