Add optional "lane" markers to front and rear camera

Something that would be helpful for remote driving would be if we could turn on an optional set of visual lane guide markers on the front and rear camera view. Don’t really need anything fancy, just a pair of lines overlaid on the image that would indicate where the tracks would hit the ground when driving straight.

Maybe bend em during turning?

An overhead view (Birds Eye view like most cars have now) would be awesome. Especially when manually docking.

 X 1Billion to all of these. Life isn’t serious if we don’t have this.

My thought to initially suggesting just straight lines is it would require the least amount of effort to add and have the least chance of being inaccurate. Due to having tracks which will have an unknown and different amount of slippage on each track during turning, it would probably require some research to accurately bend the lines to show what the rover is going to do.

So long as you keep it to straight lines, for driving straight, that should be something that can very quickly and with very little effort be implemented (and with out much complaining from the software team) and would make a big difference right away for operating the rover remotely.

That would likely require a lot of software work and maybe additional cameras. I was going for something that could be implemented quickly with low effort.

Not saying it wouldn’t be nice to have that eventually, but small steps first.

Thank you for the suggestion! I’ve passed this along to our product team for consideration. We appreciate your feedback.
