Yarbo seems to have snapped the RTK antenna off. Ran right into my play set again. I placed the order for RTK antenna off Yarbo. But I didn’t have the pin that snapped off. please help.

Yarbo has a thing for Play sets

Interestingly I lost an antenna today also. But mine was in a wide-open area behind my barn and the emergency stop button was also pressed. I suspect something tried to jump on/over and slid across the top bending 2 antennas and breaking the third. Fortunately the third only had the low mount broken and I got it running by using one of the high rtk mounts.

I hope they are working on a more durable antenna system!

They are working on it.

Joining the playset club!

By the way, are the rear camera working? It does that often on “non” NGZ trees or here on the post of the playset? In this case it is sunset, but it did that right under the sun on a few trees.

What firmware are you on? They should be working AFAIK

APP 3.15.4; Firmware 3.9.16. In the status page, all the camera RC state are at 0 (normal). I suspect that the object detection behind the rover need to be perfected. Since there is no bumper sensor at the rear of the module, the object detection when in reverse must rely (I suppose) on the camera. It does that here and there so my bet is that sometimes that detection is not working perfectly…

The app does warn about swing set legs and things on a diagonal or suspended. Yeah rear obstacle avoidance is not perfect. It’s definitely a work in progress. I suspect night time may have been a factor here as well. Also note that if the tow hitch is installed, rear OA is disabled.

While the vision has been useless, maybe I’m lucky but not once has mine backed into a no-go zone, up a tree, or not respected the boundries. What causes this for some and what might i be doing differently.

No tow hitch. In this case maybe nighttime affected accuracy. But it happened a few times during the day. Anyway, as for any vision tech, obstacle avoidance should become better with time… But among all the features we request, vision is hopefully their main focus. This tech is getting mature now in the competition. “Nice to have” gadgets, bells and whistles in the app are cool, but the vision should be on par with the competition. Still running my test with trees (see my other post about having NGZ around trees) and I confirm, although I don’t have numbers yet (had to restart a few times the jobs for various reasons), it seems to go wayyy faster with NGZ around each tree instead of relying on the “vision” to go around…

I no-goed all my trees and beds. That seems to be the ticket currently.

Just to confirm, your area bypass setting is not set to Gentle Contact but is set to something like moderate bypass? Gentle contact will not use any vision for avoidance (just to slow down and make gentle contact with the front bumper). If it activates the bumper, then it will use vision to avoid the object. I am not entirely certain that rear obstacle avoidance is on or not in this mode, but I would assume it might not be. Perhaps @Yarbo-Forum can confirm that it is working in this firmware and whether or not it is active in gentle contact mode.

Dodged a bullet there.

Mine didn’t go so well…

I got the chance to replace ALL the antennas. What fun. NOT!

Playing dead very convincingly.

I knew the first part, didn’t know the second, and I was wondering about that, as when Yarbo smacks into my telephone pole it’ll wiggle its head back and forth as if it’s a confused old lady trying to find change in her purse. Makes sense.

And here’s a dollar, you nice smart young man.

Oh… Gentle contact indeed… That might be the problem! But with moderate avoidance, will likely skip large areas around obstacles no? I guess we need to pick the less of two evils…

Oh yes it will drive to Egypt at times with vision avoidance. I use it for one area that has a bunch of small stuff that would be difficult to NGZ. I find I typically have to cut twice at a 90 degree angle each cut to get the missed grass there.
