Can't connect to Data Center

Hi,

My Yarbo has been out of commission since the winter, and I finally received a replacement.

I’m trying to get it going, and I’m having no luck connecting to the Data Center. I got it paired with the controller and the phone, but I can’t seem to get a GPS location.

If I go to Yarbo Settings → Data Center → Data Center Settings, I get this:

The Data Center was restarted. (Left it off for minutes.) The light on the Data Center is green. The Data Center worked fine with my previous Yarbo.

Please help

Get right up next to the DC, almost touching and see if you can see it. Then do a “Reinstall Data Center” to pair the new core to the DC. If you can’t see it though bluetooth, you can do the manual pairing process with the QR code on the back of the DC.

Hi there, please first try Bryan’s suggestion to see if it helps resolve the issue. Feel free to keep us updated with your results, and if you’re still unable to connect after trying those steps, we’ll be happy to help you further.

The closest I can get is 30cm, and it didn’t help. I dread having to take down the antenna to get the QR code, but looks like I’ll have to do that.

Yeah I understand your trepidation with doing that. If you want to ask support, I believe they can manually pair it for you. Never hurts to ask anyways before you climb up on the roof to take it down. I’d suggest getting a ticket opened or posting your current ticket number here so the forum moderator can follow up on it for you and get it routed to someone who might be able to assist with it (if possible).

I did. They suggested the correct approach was to transfer the maps from the old Yarbo to the new one. But map is failing to download. For the first couple of attempts, it was a generic network error message. For the later attempts, I get an error in Chinese which mentions “AWS” (probably Amazon’s Cloud).

What is your current firmware version at? Since you don’t have a network connection, it most likely hasn’t updated to a version that supports the downloads. Needs to be 3.13.X at least. Connect your rover to your home wifi so it can download the updates. Then delete it after the DC is connected.

App 3.19.2 (latest)

Firmware 3.14.1 (latest)

Looks like it’s been autosaving its current map, but it can’t download the one from the broken Yarbo from the cloud.

Ok that is definitely something support can facilitate for you. What’s your current ticket number for @Yarbo-Forum to escalate for you?

Come to think of it, I got the phone 30 cm from it using a ladder and a tripod for phones. I could use that same technique to grab the QR code. Will try that tomorrow.

Still doesn’t solve your map problem though.

True, but I can rebuild the map. My main concern is getting a GPS location so I can use it!

I think for the QR code pairing, you have to press the button on the bottom of the DC. Not entirely sure. Never needed to do it.

Hi there, I’m sorry you’re still dealing with this. We’ve escalated your case to our FSE team, and they’ll follow up with you soon to help get this resolved.

Thank you for your patience while we work through this with you.
