Just realized I never posted these.
Here are some pics of the updated Snowblower module for the 2024/2025 Core.
@rgloverii I can’t remember did you ask them if the new deflector design would be available for a modular upgrade?
Nice picture. What would the new deflector design do?
It is electric. Without wire.
Nice. Good idea.
Looks like they missed the opportunity to revisit the plow/guard connection, the current solution is pretty bad with the small fine thread bolts. That will hopefully be on S2.
They missed several opportunities. See they didn’t even install the M25 cable cover on that photo? Yeah, it still needs a screw. Love the iterative changes, but let’s hit some of the other pain points too since we are making changes.
I noticed that. You’re 100% right, knocking out a few of the changes at once seems like a more ideal approach.
That’s the reason I never bought the plow. I wouldn’t even use it if they gave me one for free.
I didn’t get the chance to ask if we could acquire the new design as a retrofit.
Maybe @Yarbo-Forum can confirm this, but I’m fairly sure it’s not able to be retrofitted, unfortunately.
I still haven’t opened up my plow box. So tell me this: Once you remove the metal guard, how is the plow attached? Do you use the same small Fine thread screws??
The plow they had on display DID NOT use screws. It had a tool-less install design. I asked about it cause I thought installing the plow required using the guard’s little screws. The guy told me that new plows don’t re-use those screws.
Still waiting for my plow that I have ordered with my snowblower in November. No update when I will get it unfortunately.
It has those handle screws but it’s no fun to try and install them. You have to support the plow and try and line up the holes while getting the first two in. The plow should be clip on IMHO. Easy snap into place and two buttons to unlatch it.
Ok. So that’s the design I saw then. The tech guy did tell me that a few of the employees have made a notch of some sort on the sides of the auger to make installing the plow easier. He tried to find one with the notch to show me, but he couldn’t find one
That may have been one of the PPP, Scott Grams. He notched his S1 and installed a screw into the plow to slip into the notch. I’m not comfortable modding my hardware while it’s under warranty.
He called himself a tester, so yes I’d assume he was PPP. He was a nice guy. Was good talking to him.
Don’t specifically recall his name though. Talked to way too many people this week!
I’ve told them the same thing.
