A few days ago My Yarbo broke off one of the RTK antennas of the rover. But it continued moving the lawn and it kept moving and returning to charger a few times. Then suddenly it couldn’t find GPS, and it says status says disconnected, even though there is contact to 36 satellites.
My question is: Is your Yarbo able to work with only one RTK antenna?
I ordered a new antenna 2 days ago and it isn’t even shipped yet.
No, it needs the second antenna for direction. The primary antenna (left as you face the rear) does the RTCM (RTK) and GPS and the right does the angle/direction. The right one is the less important one so if the left broke, you could try swapping them. Otherwise, you will need to wait for another one. You could open a support ticket and they may be able to see if they can expedite one for you. I am currently waiting for an order of some myself and they told me they are out of stock until the 10th of April at the earliest.
Are these little barrel RTK antennas readily available at the Jungle Site or eBay? I thought they were dead common items based on the part number. Not so?
Beyond that one person out on FB replaced an RTK antenna with a completely different one for some other product, and he said it worked great. Dunno, not sure what that’ll do to your warranty. LOL!
someone posted one that was pretty darn close from Alibaba but I’m not ordering from there. They are pretty standard and as long as the frequencies are supported it would most likely work fine and not be an issue. Mounting is the potential challenge. But, one of the PPP broke his putting the snow tracks on (rover leaned over on it) and he used one he had laying around and just taped it to the handle until his replacement came in.
As Bryan has mentioned, a single RTK antenna cannot support the normal operation of Yarbo. Unfortunately, you’ll need to wait for the antenna replacement to restore full functionality. It should be delivered to you within the next 7 days. Thank you for your understanding!
