expanding an existing mowing area

I have followed the instructions in this article How to Adjust Existing Mowing Areas in the Yarbo App - Yarbo Product Talk - Yarbo Forum, I have begun on the line and even have begun inside the exiting added, followed it along the new area I want to add, and then cross the existing perimeter again, and click next. I am prompted with the “select the area you want to retain” and click next. there is only one area to select. It never adds the new area, can someone help identify what I am doing wrong?

Hi Josh,

Could you please try this process again while recording your phone screen and share the video with us? That will help us better understand what’s happening. When you start the expand action, make sure to begin inside the existing area and also end inside the existing area (not just on the boundary, but extending further in). This may help resolve the issue.

If you still aren’t able to expand the area, we recommend submitting a support ticket with the recorded video and details. That way, our support team can review your case more thoroughly and assist you further.

Thank you!

I had the same experience as Josh, but will try again following your recommendation. Thanks!

would not recommend buying anything from yarbo because they lie to you on when your product will be shipped. i ordered the lawn mower pro during the first launch and was told it would ship out the first of august. BIG LIE! just got a email that it will ship end of august to the end of September! Yarbo is currently running ads on youtube say available for immediate shipment. so is this a lie also. all they are trying to do is get your money and they ship your product when they feel like it. i don’t understand why a company has to lie like this. They have very low integrity. then when you ask them about your shipment they try to offer you points to make you feel better. also their tech support is non existent they keep sending you to someone different but never resolve the issue. so if you buy anything from them you are on your own.

Josh and Yarbo,

I tried to expand an area today begining inside the area, then driving outside the area boundary to map the expansion, and then ending back inside the boundary of the existing area. Like Josh’s experience, I was prompted to select the area to retain. I backed out of the process.

My suggestion to the Yarbo app developers is to change the app menu to explicity ask the user to select whether they want to expand or split the area, then direct the user as appropriate.

I have the screen record that you have asked for. I started in the existing area, exited where I wanted to begin the map edit and then finished back in the existing area. I tried this twice. I am trying to add them and getting the file size is too large. Is There another method to get you this or do you have any other suggestions? I have done this numerous time successfully with the Mammotion mower.

I also have this issue. It never expands the area it wants to split the area.

I also have this issue. Expanding areas seems to be broken.

@Eff.A This may need further investigation from our support team. We’d really appreciate it if you could submit a support ticket so they can look into the issue more closely.

I have submitted a ticket and nothing came from it. I am so convinced this is a widespread issue that I think every Yarbo is affected. All the devs have to do is give it a try on one of your lab units.

If memory serves, when I last expanded an area it looked like it was splitting and asked which I wanted to keep. Try selecting the “other” area and see if it will highlight both sides of the split.

It’s quite possible that this is a recent regression, but as of maybe 3 or 4 weeks ago, I was able to modify and expand a couple of my snowblower areas.

After driving Yarbo around to map the new area, you are given the option of selecting an area to keep, or add to the existing one. Something like that.

I don’t think it’s a regression. It’s just extremely finicky to get it right. I reached out to a PPP whom I know spent an entire day figuring it out to see if he has any tricks.

@Eff.A I just checked with another PPP and he confirmed that you have to select BOTH sides of the area when it prompts you which one to keep. So Ken’s memory is correct. Give it a shot and let us know if that works or not for you.

Start inside the current area you want to expand and draw out to where you want to expand. Then come back into the existing area and then hit next (or whatever). When prompted, select both. Hope that helps!

I will caveat that another PPP told me that it’s still a bit finicky and may still require some fiddling with it. So I’m curious to hear your experience with it.
