After successfully creating a mowing area in the Yarbo app, you may find the need to make adjustments to better match your lawn layout or mowing preferences. This guide covers the different methods you can use to edit, resize, or refine your mowing areas.
1. Edit Area Features
To begin editing an existing area, follow these steps to enter the Edit Area interface:
The Edit Area feature allows you to manually modify a mapped mowing zone by splitting, expanding, or making more complex edits. All modifications are done by manually driving your Yarbo along the new desired path.
We’re actively working on making the map editing process more intuitive and efficient in future updates.
Split Area
If your Yarbo’s new path intersects the boundary of an existing area at two points, the area will be split into two parts. You can choose to keep one and will need to redraw the other.
Expand Area
If Yarbo’s new route lies outside the current boundary but intersects it at two points, the area will automatically expand to include the new section.
Complex Edit
If Yarbo’s path intersects the boundary at multiple points, the system will use the first and last intersection points to redefine the mowing area. This creates a newly shaped zone based on the revised path.
2. Adjust Area Boundaries Using Settings
If you want to make quick adjustments without redrawing the map, you can do so through the area settings. Follow these steps to open the settings page for the area you’d like to adjust:
In the Advanced Settings section, you’ll find options to:
-
Exterior Area Shrink
-
Exterior Area Expand
These settings allow you to adjust the entire boundary of the mowing area inward or outward by a specified value. This is a quick way to fine-tune the cutting zone without going through the full editing process.
