Firmware V3.11.0 & APP V3.16.3 Release Note

Reboot is a habit I learned from @bryan.wheeler .

I’m “out of pocket” for a bit so I won’t be able report a run for a few days.

I made sure I had my foot ready to keep the mower deck away from an HVAC unit in case it did the 90 degree turn on the dock when I sent it out. Yup, it did just like others have reported. Fortunately I had my foot ready and Yarbo turned and kept trying to turn against my foot. But, I was able to stop the mower head from damaging anything. So, THANK YOU everyone who reported this and gave me the heads up!

Honestly, Yarbo’s messaging needs to improve 100% on issues like this. They can’t expect all purchasers of their products to follow a social media platform especially when they sell it as a “set it and forget it” product. They REALLY need to also add a “known issues” section to their release notes, posts, and emails. No sugar coating or fluff to not hurt feelings, just straight facts and to the point.

Plenty of companies do this, it’s only helpful. Now, since we can’t select when to update…that does complicate things a bit because then you can’t opt to let an update bake longer to work more of the kinks out with the testers before you decide to update your own Yarbo.

If updates are truly tested before sending them to customers, does the person doing the testing know what they’re doing? It’s not possible that there are always problems after updates, or even that things that were working properly stop working properly. I also find it absurd to have bought a robot and be used as a free tester and advisor to try to make it work properly and more efficiently. Customers shouldn’t always have to dedicate personal, unpaid time to a company on a purchased product. I paid for it, so it must work as promised. Customers’ help is useful, so they should be rewarded in any appropriate way, which doesn’t mean who gives the most likes or posts repetitive replies or those already in the online manual.

I agree on Yarbo’s shortcomings, but have to give credit to the members here. They have been immensely helpful. The little monthly gifts Yarbo awards don’t come close to offsetting the time members put into this forum.

Thanks for sharing such detailed feedback about your experience. We’re glad to hear that the slope performance and maneuvering have improved for you.

Regarding the bug you mentioned with the battery display and work history, could you please submit a support ticket so our team can investigate it further?

As for the collision behavior, Yarbo currently relies on the bumper sensors to detect physical obstacles. Because of this, contact with the tracks alone cannot be recognized as a collision, which is why the unit may continue turning during turning.

Your observations about dead-end execution and starting point detection are very helpful. We will share these with our relevant product and algorithm teams for review and future optimization.

Thanks again for your continued support and for taking the time to help us improve.

Loved the tree swing one. It’s SO TRUE!!

I wanted to say that the vision based obstacle detection is amazing at blowing around trees in my yard. It’s so much better than the previous version.

So true in so many different aspects of life.

Is anyone else getting module lifted error? I keep getting this it is not lifted and is attached. I have opened a ticket but not heard anything.

Yes it’s a current known issue because they enabled this and rollover detection by default now. It’s overly sensitive. You can disable both under settings and working preferences

Hi there, you can temporarily disable the lift detection in the Work Preferences page.

For now, if Yarbo’s caster wheel is lifted (for example, if there is a bump or uneven ground causing one side of the caster wheel to rise), it may trigger the lift detection, which is likely why you are seeing this message repeatedly.

Did you mean drop vs rise?

Suspect there’s more to it than that. Before disabling it, I was getting persistent module lifted errors sitting on the dock on level ground.

@cobradunn Hi there, thank you for pointing that out. This is a known issue, and our team is actively working on improvements. We appreciate your patience!
