Firmware V3.12.0 & App V3.17.4 Release Notes & Feature Highlights

Is it happening in a pathway? You can raise the pathway auger height in the settings to see if that helps.

Yes, it’s a pathway to the charger, but one the mapping process created. Maybe I need to create a separate pathway?

You shouldn’t have to. Enter your yard, edit the map, tap on pathway, then tap the gear on your docking station pathway. You can tap the list of pathways and it will show you which is which if you don’t know. Once you tap the gear, you can change the pathway settings.

My app (did app update first) and firmware are now updated (App v3.17.4 / FW v3.12.0), and I did a short trial run. Overall, everything seems to be working as expected. (Camera, view, auger, core, etc).

Overall, basic operation is fine, and the rover can still return to the dock and charge normally. However, I’m noticing two minor issues:

  1. Docking alignment seems slightly off
Charging works, but the rover is not parking as straight as before—about ~5-10° skewed. Previously, it would sit essentially centered/parallel at the dock. I retried multiple times and it consistently docks a bit angled (still charging fine). I may need to re-check the dock placement or pathway settings.

  2. “Improved Snow Blower Unstuck Behavior” does not seem to trigger as described
Per the release notes, the new behavior says: when track slippage is detected, the snow blower module should first raise to the highest position, then reverse to recover, and attempt additional maneuvers before issuing a stuck notification.

In my test case, the stuck behavior looked the same as before. I did see the rover attempt to recover, but the snow blower module did not raise to the “highest” position during the slippage/recovery sequence (at least not visibly).

Charging is fine, so it’s not urgent, but I’m wondering if anyone else is seeing slightly different docking behavior after the update. Did you need to re-calibrate/re-install the dock location or adjust pathway/docking settings?

Is the Yarbo inside? You got the same ‘death’ circle my GPS has. But, for me it didn’t know the snow blower was attached.

I powered down, unplugged the snow module, power up, powered down, plugged the snow blower module back in and on reboot it detected it! Everything good with that.

BuT still no ROVER GPS.

5” already. I was going to try scheduling it to go every 2 hours to see how it did automalesly. But now I’ll wait until it finishes tomorrow morning (20hours?) and gas up old reliable. I did start it last night just didn’t top it off) Unless Yarbo decides it wants to play in the snow! I rather dig it out with the gas one then not give Yarbo a chance to prove its beasthood!

I know one person with this issue and oddly theirs was fixed by the firmware update. I’d open a support ticket. Nothing he tried corrected it, it just fixed itself one day after the update.

You could always run it manually with smart vision from inside the house if everything else but GPS is working. Just a thought.

I see the pathway in the map, but no way to edit. I’ll try when it’s done with the current route and when I edit the map to a spiral pattern.

Yeah, you can’t edit pathways if it’s working.

Do you have the new firmware update? I have the app, but not the firmware and now I have no control over the moving speed. It is gone from work preference and it is not in the area or pathway settings as you show in your screenshot.

Yes I do, and you’re not the first I’ve seen say this. It should show up when the update is pushed. If you need it sooner, maybe support can push it early for you.

No I am good, no new snow here. I am in the frozen tundra part of the storm, no snow but -30 temps at night and windchills in the -35 to -50 area. I was using Yarbo yesterday to clean up some blown snow on the perimeter of areas, still seemed to work ok.

Glad to hear it doesn’t impact you, but man is that cold!

Something happened where the path that used to get it to the backyard sidewalk no longer does. It’ll do everything but the 2nd zone, which before the update it had no issue getting to. I’ll probably have to edit the path to be deeper into the zone than before (initial guess).

Are you using the labels for the snow blowing areas? It will prioritize those for travel. If no labels or it starts in a mowing area, it will do shortest path first.

Yeah I have labels on all the zones

Could explain the change. This explains the feature in a little more detail. See if it makes sense for what you are seeing. Area Function Labels and Label-Based Routing | Yarbo Wiki

It survives and charges outside at those extreme temps?

It does ok but I have taken to bringing it in when it gets extreme and no snow is in the forecast. -40 isn’t good for any type of equipment.

Alright, so this is strange. It wouldn’t go if I had the entire plan set (driveway, a few sidewalk paths, & backyard cement with no crossing zones or no go areas), but if I told it to do the front & side first then another job for only the back, it navigated without issue (using the same sidewalk path between the driveway and the back cement).
