I have the mower area setting set to do the perimeter first but for some reason it still wants to start with the area first. That is a software issue.
I have the charging pad/ start area on the South side of my driveway, but it wants to start on the North side of my driveway. With this it wants to take a random path all the way around my house to get to the start point. Yes I could do a path across the driveway to where it wants to start, but I dont want to always make sure my vehicle is not parked in the way. If the setting is to do perimeter first why can it not start where the charging pad is at to do the perimeter and follow the perimeter instead of cutting random lines through your nicely designed checkerboard pattern. Same with getting to no go zones , but I will be fixing that by doing another path around the perimeter and following checkerboard tracks to get to the no go zones from the perimeter. This i would see as the most efficient and visually helpful way of doing perimeter and no go zone mapping instead of multiple extra lines all over the yard and adding lots of time to the mow job. More software fixes
More suggestions possibly coming after I play with it more
I know it is suggested to break up in multiple maps to try and avoid some of the issues. However, that is not a good idea as one large map will keep all lines connected to each other.
I can tell you that when doing striping around objects with a normal mower, you select a path that goes through the middle of the object. You run to the object and then circle around it lining up with your line on the other side. Then you come back on the other side of the object circling around it again and work side to side to maintain the look of straight stripes through the object. With the GPS and auto mapping, I was hoping that that is what would happen instead of coming to it then turning around then later cutting through the yard to make it to the other side of it to continue then cutting through the yard again on a different path to do the perimeter of the no go zone. Then cutting through the yard again on another path to do perimeter of the yard then driving all the way through the rest of the nicely striped yard to get back to the charging pad on the other side of the house
