GPS signal stability problems after the latest update

I went through this too. They send replacement RTK’s. Then That didn’t work it was the cable. So after replacing both RTK’s and both cables it was fine. You can post your support ticket number for better follow up. There is a whole section if you search Broken RTK antenna. Or click on it. This has been an ongoing issue. They was testing a more flexible RTK. When mine broke, it also broke the screw down barrel on the mount. I did a pexi mod on mine because of low hanging limbs. It has held up so far. No more broken RTK’s. Hopefully this get’s you back up and going.

Same issue for me, support wants a video of my pine tree that the mower decided to drive under (it’s a no-go zone) and break both RTK antennae’s off. Luckily I designed and 3D print them. I have never had any GPS issues but since the update it’s been nothing but issues. I’m a current airline pilot and also know how to troubleshoot things and have tried all suggested fix’s.

Regards,

Michael

My mod isn’t the prettiest thing around. But for anything that might be low hanging limb. Or if he decides he’s not liking something GPS has to offer that day. This has saved my RTK’s multiple times.

I have no trees, no damaged rtk antennas. ZERO GPS reception issues until this update. App says the DC has strong reception with 28 satellites (I went through the reinstallation process just in case). The core is simply rejecting the GPS signals in my location. This was never the case until this “improvement’“. My current brand new replacement core has been in service less than 3 weeks. It worked perfectly up to September 1st (last successful mow). Now I am supposed to believe that that my antennae/connecting cables may be the problem. I’m being asked to send pictures of the connections and the location of the docking station. I’ve had issues requiring replacement cores over the past 8 months but GPS reception was not one of them. Now a brand new core suddenly loses GPS reception after an update and I am being sent down a ridiculous troubleshooting tree. Anyone reading this may correctly assume that I have had enough. I bought into the hype and I love the concept but I am not wasting anymore of my time. Yarbo needs to either roll back the update or fix the current update. I just need to figure out what to do with this unit and accessories. I’m open to ideas

@madpussp Hi there,

We’re truly sorry for the inconvenience this issue has caused. I’ve reviewed your support ticket and also discussed your case with our field service engineer. Based on our analysis, the L2 value is showing 0, which indicates that one of your antennas or feeder cables may have an issue. We completely understand that, since this started happening right after the update, it may appear to be update-related.

Please rest assured that we take your case seriously and are committed to resolving it. We’ve already initiated the replacement process for the materials involved in your case. Once you receive the replacement parts, we’d appreciate it if you could follow the guide we provide to complete the replacement.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

As soon as I get the new stuff I’ll let you know. As I said this is my 4th core so patience is pretty much gone

Just letting you guys know, that I had also zero issues before the latest update. Now there are many GPS fluctuations and disconnections. Hoping for the fix, or is here any workaround for now?

disable the ppv beta if you have problems and see if that solves the problem.

Same issues! They asked for a video of my trees! I don’t have time to go down a rabbit hole when nothing, absolutely nothing was wrong prior to the update. Mowing was perfect but now my trees are the issue. I hope they realize that something in the update is not working.

Swap the antennas. If L1 drops to zero swap back again. If L1 comes back you confirm it is the antenna. If L1 remains identical after switch then it is cable (both antennas are working) or something deeper into the robot…

But zero L2 with no fluctuation is not just bad signal if you have L1 at those levels… there is a hardware issue. Maybe this time it is just coincidence it happened after the update. The update removed the buffer zone around perimeter. Maybe the antenna hit something?

I do have a non functional antenna that looks normal on the outside. So it doesn’t have to look broken to not work…

@anre.kuldja Hi there—sorry to hear about the GPS fluctuations after the latest update.

Quick check: do you have PPVS enabled? In this release we added a new “quality” metric that filters out low-quality GPS signals that used to be accepted (those could cause drift). On some setups, this can look like more dropouts.

In the meantime, please try:

Increase the PPVS Travel Distance value to give Yarbo more tolerance when GPS is weak.

Or turn off PPVS to see if stability improves.

If issues persist, feel free to submit a support ticket and share details about your issue. Our support team would be love to help you.

Can swap them with the Datacenter as well.

Just keeping this thread alive as my situation has not improved at all.

I’m waiting for some replacement antennas and cables that are supposed to fix the GPS issues. I’m cautiously pessimistic but I will be the first to apologize for my mini-rant if the parts fix the issues🤷🏿‍♂️
